Yep. And, set up automated machine gun nests with overlapping fire zones. Just have the border patrol drop off extra ammo. And, for those pesky tunnel diggers, set up ground sensors tied to mortars with concussion charges. Again just have border patrol drop off extra ammo. Relatively cheap, not to mention cool use of tech. Done. Woudln't even be that expensive. Heck might not even need a wall (the most expensive part of this idea).

Israel to use mammoth trencher in Gaza (06/04/05)

Israel has bought a 100-ton behemoth, made by U.S. company Trencor Inc, to use in uncovering weapons' smuggling tunnels in the Gaza-Egypt border area, according to an Israeli army publication.

The mammoth trencher would be used to dig deep channels along the border route Israel patrols, exposing the tunnels, according to soldiers' weekly "Bamahane" .

The Bamahane said that the machine arrived disassembled from Texas and is now being put together. It will be operational "in the coming weeks," it said.

Trencor's head of international sales, Don Sharp, said that Israel paid $1.4 million for one of its top-of-the-line trench diggers. "

The massive vehicle sports a snout designed to cut through concrete or metal to help lay large water, sewer, gas and petrol pipelines, Sharp said.
