Really for being in the middle of A World War... I think thinks have been moving slowly by historical standards... If you consider all of the islamofasicst push starting in 1979. Its has been nearly 30 years for conflict to break out... in comparision to the realtivly short ramp ups to WW1 and WW2... I also feel that this will go on just as long to completion another 10-20 years.
WW1 & WW2 were fought by and amoung organized nation-states. This WW looks like it's going to be fought between an international religious-based movement (Islam) and ... well, lets just say that western governments haven't really joined the fight. If you see western governments refuse to defend their populations, you will see a rapid rise in private militias. Already happening in Australia, and a few other places.
