Christians killed on Muslim island
news.com.au ^ | 3 February 2006

GUNMEN attacked a group of Christian families in the southern Philippines yesterday, leaving at least six dead on the island of Jolo, a mainly Muslim island hotbed of Islamic militants, police said.

The apparently sectarian violence in the town of Patikul occurred in a cluster of houses behind a Philippine Marine camp, and came less than three weeks before a small group of US soldiers deploy on the island for joint military exercises.

At least five unidentified gunmen opened fire on three thatch houses before dawn, killing three men.

The Muslim wife of one of the victims and their eight-month old baby girl were killed along with the teenage daughter of one of the other male victims.

One child wounded in the attack told reporters that the gunmen knocked on their doors to inquire if the families were Christian or Muslim.

They then left but returned a few minutes later, firing their guns at the houses.

Patikul is a known hotbed of the Abu Sayyaf, a Muslim extremist group linked by both Washington and Manila to the Al-Qaeda network.

The US State Department has tagged the Abu Sayyaf, or Bearer of the Sword, a "foreign terrorist organisation" and has put up millions of dollars for the capture of its leaders.

The Philippine government has blamed the group for a string of bombings and kidnappings and murders in the south, mostly targeting Christians and foreigners, including the death of two American hostages abducted in 2002.

US troops are to begin month-long exercises on Jolo on February 20. Their planned deployment has raised fears of possible Abu Sayyaf attacks.

The comparisons with Nazism come easier and easier.

Nothing to see here. Rightly offended Muslims venting their just anger against Islamophobia, crusades, and the US support of Israel. Carry on.

And who is saying this isn't a religious war?

At the very least it's Islam against every one who isn't.

At some point in time, the ROP problem must be exterminated.

Muslims kill Christians on Christian lands in a place known as Kosovo. They burn the churches as well.

And we have Bill, Hillary, and the Islamofascists dupes across this great land to thank for all of it.

Just like the World Trade Center (1993 and 2001)...
always coming back to murder more people.

Screw the Crusades. They were only meant to protect Jeruselum. We need to wipe out Islam forever!! Just like Ann Coulter said. Convert them all to Christianity, and kill the ones who won't. I mean that's how they spread their religion.

islam is EVIL.

There is no such thing as "radical islam". There are only muslims who believe the koran, and those who do not.

Destroy the koran.

Destroy all who resist.

islam is EVIL.

Right you are. And when will we quit pretending that there are such things as moderate moslems? That that approve, without participating in carnage done in their name does, not diminish their culpability.

They differ from other religions in that they, in their mindless, illiterate ignorance, their crappy belief that demands that those who do not believe as they do need to be killed.

This problem won't be over until there are no no more of these ignorant, backward, and irrational creatures.

It truly pains me to say that, but I see no other path. We are in a them or us situation, forced upon us by a body with which negotiation and meaningful dialog is futile.

Very sad.

Hey don't feel bad, God said it to Saul about 2500 years ago. He didn't listen, now look where we are.

I am shocked.

Our President, in the State of the Union, told us Islam a wonderful, peaceful religion.

It's all so confusing.

I'm sure those muslims are hiding right now... i came from that part of the country... we dont just sit down and cry waiting for the cops for help, we retaliate...

When christians started to fight back against the MILF years ago the muslims called on the Organization of Islamic Conference for intervention...

The Filipino muslims are known to be courageous fighters but dumb, christian fighters are smart. They just cant start a widescale war, they knew the consequences. We almost wiped them all in the 70's.
