Funniest thing is, they complained to the FCC.
I put my garbage out at the curb this morning and someone stole it.
They have the prerequisite swat team?
I would think the FCC would want to jump all over this. Protecting the chiiiiii-ldren, and all.
"..or any of the content on our more than 125 channels."
He had to slip in the number of channels they carry, huh?
Kinda makes me wonder if the they aren't doing it all themselves as a publicity stunt.
The word "intellectual" and the name Howard Stern in the same story is pretty funny. Sterns idea of highbrow entertainment is taking a naked woman, sticking a stick up her butt and then tossing rings at the stick for points. Now that's value that needs to be protected! /sarcasm off
I don't condone illegal behavior but it couldn't happen to a "nicer" guy. He're hoping the FCC doesn't answer when they call.
Actually, that would be $777 over five years, Pokai...
But since if Howard Sterns hair was on fire, I wouldn't bother to pee on his leg, maybe I am the wrong person to ask if it is worth it.
Hey, Sirius,,,,,, When you lay with dogs, you get fleas.
LOL! Poetic justice for Stern, and for Sirius for signing him. Stern's fans have no morals? Who knew?
Absolutely nothing new. MP3s of his radio show have been available on USENET for years.
In the driveway? I didn't think his hard core fans (adolescent 12 to 14 year old boys and those of a like mind) have driver's licenses.
geez..
Ahoy, why steal Stern? Ye'll ne'er get me buried booty!
Arrrrrr!
Sirius mad the biggest tactical mistake ever relying on this baffoon and his fan base to hit them a home run.... I definately would put my money on XM in the satellite radio business long term.... these guys just burned billions
You folks got what you want, Howard and his cohorts are no longer on the public airwaves...
What I can't see is how you can actually condone illegal activity just because it is perpetrated against someone you don't like. That, my dear friends, is shallow and carries with it no morality whatsoever.
Radio piracy is illegal, period, and if the FCC is worth their paychecks they will pursue this as they would any other case - with no more vigor than usual simply because of the star status of Stern, but certainly with no less.
Sirius has not only the right, but the obligation to its subscribers and shareholders, to pursue the infringement of their copyrights.
Deciding what cases you support based on your personal preferences is moral relativism in its finest form. Sometimes I am truly shocked and amazed by what I find on this forum...
To each his own. But to think Stern or Sirius cannot or should not be able to prevent the theft of their product because you don't like it is pretty stupid.
I listen to calvary chapel radio on 88.1. Ever since Stern went on sirius, I occasionally hear Stern's show coming in 88.1. I looked on the web and it's either someone pirating or someone's FM modulator tuned to 88.1, but I never get any interference except for Stern.
A few people on this thread don't seem to understand irony.
