I though he and Elvis we on a remote island enjoying the sun. Had to be so, I saw it reported in (one of those rags pawned off at the grocery store checkout).

THIS IS NEW!!! BIG NEWS!!

The Warren Commission fingered Oswald. And as recently as the summer of '63 Oswald was spending his time protesting in the "Hands off Cuba" movement.

If Castro did kill Kennedy, then the government 1) wouldn't want to admit a "defeat" to a communist. And 2) wouldn't want to incite the American people into a frenzy to invade Cuba, and probably the USSR as well. Had we admitted that Cuba killed Kennedy, nuclear WWIII would probably have started within the week.

I believe so. Both Kennedys did try to have Castro assassinated.

If the Warren Commission had found Castro responsible that would have forced a war with Cuber, which would have involved the Soviets. This would have distracted from our attempt to control the oil reserves off the coast of Vietnam. (Note that the "oil crisis" started shortly after we lost in Vietnam)

And there is that odd data point that we still do not have diplomatic relations with our former playground, and 4th closest neighbor...
