'Commander in Chief' Takes Six-Week Break

By LYNN ELBER, AP Television Writer

LOS ANGELES - "Commander in Chief" is going on a six-week hiatus, making way for a new comedy from "Saturday Night Live" producer Lorne Michaels as part of ABC's midseason schedule makeover.

The White House drama, which brought Geena Davis a Golden Globe last month for her portrayal of the president, will air through Feb. 28. It will be replaced in its 9-10 p.m. EST Tuesday slot March 7 by the sitcom "Sons & Daughters."

Well... The MSM should have Breaking News any moment with Her Ankleship crying out, "The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy has done it again!"

I am sure there is an ex-Senator somewhere that is 'deeply sadden' by this...

It's a boring show - they can't get over the President being a woman and spend enless time on her personal life - it's a soap opera.

I'm betting the real reason is that they realized it wasn't helping Hillary afterall, and they needed to take a break to retool it.

Guess Geena needs to get back to my favorite of her roles...

No mercy, gun aiming, knife wheeling, gut shootin' Charly Baltimore from The Long Kiss Goodnight

She was so cool in it...

Just a guess, but I'm thinking the American people are really getting tired of hearing from Hillary Clinton.

We should all set our TiVos to record whatever show is put on in place of Commander in Chief. If the show gets better ratings, Commander in Chief will be gone for good!

Any more Geena Davis as C n C and a woman will never be elected President.

Well they did have Natasha Henstridge in a small role... She is just about the hottest female that ever wore spiked heels!

Had this been a Conservative series pushing moral values or something, the headline would have screamed "Horrible Ratings Force Conservative Preach-Fest into Back Drawer". But with commie Rod Lurie, it is only a "break".

You're right. And the female President sending in a company of Marines to bust a Muslim woman out of a foreign jail for being raped was just so over the top and stupid....

it's a soap opera.

Kind of like the 8 years of the Clinton presidentcy.

FWIW, I believe Lurie's gone, and Bochco is now at the helm.

Shame on you! They did a CBS 'Fair n Balanced' rendition of President Reagen a few years ago... (/smartass)
