I had the same question in my mind when I read this post.

I’m not sure about Viracocha, but extensive research on the legend of Quetzalcoatl, conducted by Mormon church member Brant Gardner, concluded there is no connection between Quetzalcoatl and the Book of Mormon’s account of Christ in the Americas.

Not likely. The earliest versions of the legend that we've found predate Christ by a thousand years, and there's some evidence that they may be far older than that.
