Unfortunately if every service member that now subscribes to the post cancels, it will only reduce their circulation by five.

If they wanted to boycott the Danish (or any other) paper, that would be within their rights.

Instead, they are making bomb threats: http://today.reuters.com/news/newsarticle.aspx?type=topNews&storyid=2006-02-01T195938Z_01_L01238305_RTRUKOC_0_US-RELIGION-DENMARK-NEWSPAPER.xml&rpc=22

Also, you apparently can't grasp the difference between boycotting a paper for something they wrote and boycotting an entire country for refusing to censor what a paper writes. Just too complex a distinction for you there, eh?

yes, the artist has the right to draw it, but where was the WaPo's editor's "judgment" when he let it run, i ask. editors are paid to decide what to run, what not to run every day. the editor should have pulled it because at the very least it is in incredibly bad taste, and there were other ways the cartoonist could have made the same point.

>>Well then, I hope the Muslims all across the world that are boycotting Denmark can do the same thing <<

Honestly, it's apples and oranges in this case.
No one is suggesting boycotting America for one newspaper.

Now our boycott of France can be easily compared to this.
When it comes to Denmark, I feel that we as Christians also have the right to buy more products from Denmark to help them out.

It does work both ways.

I don't understand why anyone in the military would still be a subscriber to the Compost. The Compost may be making a smart move as probably 90% of their remaining subscribers are part of the Angry Left and would probably applaud the cartoon. Of course, they are kissing off any credibility of objectivity, but hey, it may be a good financial move.

Boy, I could have predicted you'd get your @ss flamed for that comment. FWIW, I agree with you. We look just as asinine as the shrieking moonbats when we play "do as I say, not as I do".

Now I'll sit back and wait while some of y'all try to convince me and yourselves that ...but, but...THIS is different....

I have read and enjoyed FreeRepublic for a couple years now. Although I have wanted to reply to a few things in the past, I never took the time to register. This cartoon finally motivated me to get off my A$$ and register.(Although, I remained seated during the registration process) This cartoon is outrageous and canceling subscriptions to the Post is not enough! Here is a link to a list of companies that The Washington Post owns. http://www.cjr.org/tools/owners/washpost.asp
KPRC will be getting a letter from me stating that I will not be viewing anything they air in the future.(Not that I ever watched anything on NBC) I urge everyone to help put these liberal fools out of business!!!! BTW, whose army do you think these libs are going to call when they are in danger of terrorist attack???

CNN's Wolf Blitzer just had a segment that showed this "cartoon". Moments later they did a segment on the European cartoons of Mohammed in which they blurred the images "so as not to offend certain viewers".

I was so enraged that they considered those offensive but not the cartoon of the American Soldier and Secretary of Defense... I've been emailing and leaving phone messages at CNN for the last hour - disgusted beyond belief!

So if the Post apologizes and forces Tole to take a LOA, I have to renew my subscription? Not me. These guys need to be put out of business. It's easy, just say no to the MSM.

[...the artist has a right under the Constitution to draw it...]

Yes. And we have the right under the Constitution to hate it and to boycott the paper for printing it. Isn't America great?

Muslims all across the world that are boycotting Denmark can do the same thing

I should think the Danes would welcome those boycotts. Unfortunately for them, that is not what is happening.
