COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Ohioans who take their private political preferences to the voting booth in November for the first time must also present public information -- identification proving who they are.

The final version of an election reform bill that Gov. Bob Taft signed into law Tuesday requires voters to provide a driver's license, utility bill or other identification before casting a ballot.

Thank you Mr. Ken Blackwell. Get Blackwell into the governor's office and then on to higher things!

Taft has been a disaster - at least the milquetoast is capitulating to the right people now.

Voter ID laws are the end of the modern Democratic party. Their weeping concern for the, what, 0.001% of the potential electorate that has no ID is such an obvious hoax that only the MSM could fall for it. A few more state laws like this, and above all a federal law re voting in federal elections would reduce the dimbulb Senate numbers to less than 35.

What a concept, can you say "voter's registration card?" It might get interesting. Bet the turnout numbers go down.
