LET'S GO RINO HUNTING!
(January 31, 2006) - Judge Sam Alito was confirmed today. He now becomes JUSTICE Sam Alito and soon will bring some additional constitutional sanity to the Supreme Court. The vote was, I believe, 58-42. But there was one vote in there that conservatives should REALLY be outraged over.
Sen. Lincoln Chafee, Rhode Island Republican, voted...NO.
This is simply an unforgivable vote by a Republican senator. Sam Alito clearly had superior credentials for a seat on the Supreme Court. There is no acceptable reason whatsoever for Chafee to vote against Alito's nomination. None whatsoever.
Chafee is running for re-election this year. He is being challenged by a highly credible Republican candidate in the primary. Steve Laffey is currently the Cranston mayor and has run a campaign based on fiscal restraint. He published a regular item on his campaign website titled, "The Taxpayer Rip-off of the Week." Washington, DC, would be a target-rich environment for a pork-buster like Steve Laffey.
Any fiscal conservative anywhere in the country who would like to see the RINO King, Lincoln Chafee, sent packing should take a long hard look at sending some dough-re-mi to Steve Laffey.

The MAJOR problem here, though, is that the National Republican Senatorial Committee is backing incumbent Chafee all the way. Indeed, they've already spent a TON of money on negative ads attacking Laffey on behalf of Sen. Chafee. Not that there weren't PLENTY of reasons already for the NRSC to NOT be wasting conservative GOP donations on Chafee, but if he gets one dime of further assistance now, after his vote on Alito, someone at the NRSC should be tarred-and feathered.
Here's where you can tell the NRSC how you feel about Republican money going to support RINO Lincoln Chafee against fiscal conservative Steve Laffey, especially after Chafee's vote on Sam Alito.
You can send 'em an email to webmaster@gopsenators.com
Or call them - and I HIGHLY recommend giving them a call - at (202) 675-6000. I just spoke with "Nick" there, who assured me the NRSC was going to continue supporting Chafee, even after his Alito vote. I told Nick to expect your calls.
Chuck Muth
CF, can you send to your ping list?
As long as these clowns keep supporting squid like Lincoln Chafee, my money goes directly to the senators I choose to support.
Since I live the California, that's the only way I get any representation out of the Senate, anyway.
chafee seemed to suggest the only thing that mattered was ideology. He said, "I am pro-choice."
Pathetic. Get rid of him now!!!!
Makes it easier for us geezers to read.
I can accept the NRSC supporting Chafee, who did oppose the filibuster. But what's unappcetable is their negative ads against Stephen Laffey.
E-mail sent:
"In light of Sen. Chafee's "no" vote on Samuel Alito, I ask that the NRSC support Mr. Chafee's opponent, Steve Laffey, in the Republican primaries.
I have been a regular donor to the Republican Party and Republican candidates, but will no longer continue to contribute money to a party that endorses candidates whose ideals and interests are not the same as mine or other members of the Republican party."
Chafee has forced me to support Laffey.
I will call local radio and spread the word.
I sent a few bucks. May send more.
Will probably volunteer later on.
Chafee has got to go.
It is a RhodeIslandism that Laffey will get trounced by any dem, but the important thing is to remove Chafee.
I will vote for,and maybe even donate to the Dem, if Chafee gets that far.
Chafee has got to go.
What a wonderful idea. Beat Chafee in the primary with a real conservative and then have him go down in flames in the general election. Does this genius think anyone to the right of Chafee can win in Rhode Island? Chafee may not be much, but better than a Dem that is never with us.
Done.
I doubt it will do any good.
But any organization that might use my money to support Sen Chafee will ever get a penny from me.
I did put a stamp on it. I can only be so mean.

ever = never.
(need more coffee...)
Laffey for the US Senate!
Wise move, I also give to the Club For Growth.
Mr. Hunk, you are an enabler.
ping!
I don't know the exact situation in R.I. but I have a hunch the Pubbies are merely being pragmatic. It's a Republican seat, first and foremost, and Chaffee probably has to do nip-ups to appease his liberal base in that state which is no doubt virulently pro-abortion. Otherwise we hand the seat to a Rat. I'm certain Chaffee would come under intense pressure from Pubbie colleagues in a close vote on an important matter. It's very important to maintain a Pubbie majority!
