The wife and I came to this conclusion just last evening while watching Fox.

Hamas' success at the polls has opened the door to civil war. The Palestinians have no history of democracy, and there's no security force in-country to insure a peaceful transition to democracy. That's why it failed in Palestine, but transition has been far more successful in Iraq. Our presence in Iraq, along with our guidance in the democratic process, has been their stabilizing force.

Agreed. And when it does, the advisable course for us of the West is to stand back and let them burn themselves out by it. No "help", no U.N. troops, no nothing. Let them destroy themselves (hopefully, as thoroughly as possible).
