Vanity - I finally got the pic/poster on FR. Kennedy, Mary Jo, Chappaquiddick

Posted on 01/28/2006 11:45:36 AM PST by bigjoesaddle

I have been searching the internet for sometime for a pic of this poster (not actually poster size, it's in a magazine). I knew it existed from an old National Lampoon mag. I finally found the magazine. (actually a book of greatest hits from National Lampoon) and went to the print shop in town, scanned it and put it on CD, came home and with help from FReepers ( Flavius Josephus who turned me on to Photobucket.com to host the pic) it's finally here!

Possibly not a bid deal to you all, but I knew FReepers would like it (as sick as it is, though not as sick as what Teddy did)

Please save the pic address at photobucket and share it whenever the murdering bastard is mentioned

Is that the highest resolution pic you have? Post a link to a hi-res pic so we can download and have fun with it!

I have it on CD, I'll try to post it again to photobucket from the CD, I think I put it in photobucket from my Adobe Photo program, and not from CD.

It's good and funny and all, but it doesn't reflect the reality that Miss Kopechne died, stayed dead and is still dead.

Well, the 'delegate' *is* partly skeletal. Maybe it's contemporaneously accurate.

Didn't VW sue the NatLamp for that? It was funny as hell.

Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun.

The Lampoon was great back in the day.

Remember the BULGEMOBILES?

Teddy was driving an Oldsmobile when the tragedy happened. General Motors was concerned that with the high profile, they would get blamed as a scapegoat for the accident so they sent a team engineers to the scene to study the cause of the accident. They examined the car in detail, the brakes, tires, and steering system. They tested the angle of the curve in the road, road surface friction, grade, inertia based upon the size and weight of the Oldsmobile. No possibilities were left unexamined.

After a week, the decision of the engineering team was unamanous. Teddy had to be driving in excess of one hundred miles per hour in order for the woman's panties to end up in the glove box!

If I remember correctly, it was the Kennedy family that sued NL. I remember they had to print an apology in their magazine.

Actually it was VW that sued because the VW logo was dead on. Lational Lampoon had to hand cut out all the pics from the remaining magazines with razor blades

i take it to mean that she is speaking from her watery grave... otherwise, there would be no concept for this poster...

I don't like to rain on your parade, but scanning a poster from a magazine not in the public domain and posting it on the internet is clearly a copyright violation.

What number was this National Lampoon. It looks remarkably familiar to Creepshow style comic art that I found so wonderful and inspiring back in 1982 when the movie was released....ah, I loved those days of underage drinking, sex and sneaking in to R rated movies.
