Is there even a slim chance that one of these four can win in the New People's Republic of Illinois? Would it really matter? It seems only Rino's can win in Illinois anyway.

Republican Rinos are the reason why Illinois is in the shape it is in today. They didn't stand for anything.

A real Republican fiscal-conservative, social-conservative can win the Governor election.

We need another Everett Dirksen in Illinois.

STATE SENTATOR BILL BRADY is a fiscal and social conservative with a 12 year CONSERVATIVE voting record.

ABORTION: 100% pro-life voting record * Opposes abortion except in cases of life of the mother. * Encourages adult stem cell research; Opposes embryonic stem cell research because it destroys human life.

2ND AMENDMENT: National Rifle Association "A" rating * Illinois Gun Owners of America 100% rating * Illinois State Rifle Association Endorsed 2004 * Voted for legislation allowing citizens to defend their families and property against armed intruders (Gov. Blagojevich vetoed and Legislature overrode veto)

TAXES: Supports easing family tax burden; strong property tax relief record * Supports repeal of Blagojevich's 300 tax & fee increases on business.

EDUCATION: Supports local control of schools * Believes parents and teachers should make educational decisions * Supports focusing state education dollars on the classroom instead of bureaucracy * Supports school choice initiatives; voted for tax credits.

TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE: Supports Constitutional Amendment to protect marriage * Voted against special rights for homosexuals.

I think this will come down to Brady and Gidwitz. I don't know anyone who takes Judy Baar Topinko or Taliban Jim seriously.

I agrre with stars, RINOs got us into this, and only a real conservative can get us out. Only a real conservative can offer the people a real alternative to four more years of Blagojevich mismanagement.

Between the two, Brady and Oberweis.... Brady has consistantly stood for family values. He also is the only conservative positions that has served in a government position.

Oberweis has only dished up ice cream

Gidwitz is no Everett Dirksen.

GIDWITZ OUTLINES HIS VIEWS Taken from http://www.suntimes.com/output/elect/cst-nws-gidwitz25.html

According to the Chicago Suntimes On abortion, for example, Gidwitz described himself as "pro-choice," but he favors requiring parental notification and consent when teens are involved.

On guns, he said he favors extending the expired federal ban on assault weapons but would like to see Chicago's ban on handguns lifted.

Gidwitz said he favors re-evaluating spending priorities over raising state taxes, but he declined to take an ironclad stance against increasing taxes. "We have a long way to go before I'd think about increasing state income or sales taxes," he said.

Gidwitz also said he opposes gay marriages but is not opposed to civil unions, and he said he favors the death penalty but is undecided about whether to lift a moratorium on executions.

I was talking about Gidwitz, my friend. Oberweis is a non-starter with me...he wants the job (any government job!) too much. I'm no fan of Gidwitz, but at least he is a serious candidate with some amount of brains and dignity. Topinko and Taliban Jim are jokes.

Go Brady!

I personally am tired of RHINOs, like Gidwitz and Topinka, who think a pro-life Lt. Gov. on their ticket will get the pro-life vote.

Been there, done that, will never vote like that again. I want the REAL DEAL!

In fact...it's about time that pro-life, pro-family candidates are the head and not the tail on a ticket.

Did you tell everyone on this board that "pro-life" Jim Oberweis said he WOULDN'T vote overturn Roe v. Wade during his 2002 Senate campaign?

Or did you just tell them what you want them to hear about Oberweis?

U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald (R-IL)
Served: 1999-2004
Conservative

FYI, Gov. Blago has the LOWEST "approval" rating of ANY sitting Dem governor in the country.

Here's a perspective on how things atand here after our "electable" RINO governor forever ruined our state. It's not an exact comparison but the candidate matchup should give you an idea where our politicians stand and what kind of background they have.

Illinois-California comparison

The incumbents

Gov. George Ryan (RINO, served 1999-2003) = Gov. Gray Davis (Dem, served 1999-2003) "Moderate" who is really an incompetant left-wing socialist stooge, very corrupt, screws up state budget royally and panders to Mexico and illegal aliens in general, which causes his approval rating to plummet until he's less popular than polyster suits.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich (Dem, served 2003-Present) = Gov. Arnold Schwartzenegger (RINO, served 2003-Present) The candidate of "change" (gets elected bashing the incumbent and pleding "reform" in the state) but he's really pretty much the same idelogical agenda with a new party label. Hard to pronounce last name, dopey media celebrity, likes giving stupid soundbites. Clueless on how to govern, likes to "Borrow-and-spend" and then tout how he "hasn't raised taxes". Started off very popular and hailed by the "moderate" luvin' media as a breath of fresh air, he is now a medoicre and irriating failure who has a good shot at losing re-election.

2002 GOP primary campaign matchup

Attn. General Jim Ryan = Sec. of State Bill Jones (Right-of-center GOP establishment guy)

Lt. Gov. Corrine Wood = Mayor Dick REARDON (corrupt liberal RINO touted as "electable")

State Senator Pat O'Malley = Bill Simon Jr. (unapologetic and popular conservative official written off by GOP "leaders")

The "electable" statewide official (Jim Ryan) won our 2002 primary, adn promptly went on to lose to a really lame Dem candidate (shades of Jones vs. Boxer in 2004)

2006 GOP primary campaign matchup

State Treasurer Judy Barr Topinka = Gary Mendoza or Rosario Marin (useless RINO hack touted as "electable" and being shoved down our throats by the establishment)

State Board of Education Chair Ron Gidwitz = Tom Campbell (ultra-drab "centrist" WASP who pretends like his "socially moderate, fiscally conservative" views will make him "electable" even though he's polling well with NOBODY)

Jim Oberweis = Michael Huffington (zillionaire Republican buisnessman obsessed with buying himself a big political office, lots of baggage...very conservative rhetoric in public but has closet liberal "side" -- Huffington secretly gay, Oberweis secretly pro-abortion)

State Sen. Bill Brady = State Sen. Tom McClintock (unapologetic legislative leader with rock solid conservative record trying to shake things up.... scorned by party leaders as a "spoiler" in the race and even bashed by some fellow "conservatives" who think he should drop out cuz we need an "outsider" to "win")

Gov. Rod Blagojevich (Dem, served 2003-Present) = Gov. Arnold Schwartzenegger (RINO, served 2003-Present)

And Arnold probably appointed more Rats.
