'Osama's People' Smuggled Into U.S.?
Court documents in a Brownsville, Texas drug-smuggling case cite a wiretapped telephone conversation by one of the smugglers who said that "Osama's people" are ready to be transported across the Mexican border into the U.S.
The Brownsville Herald reported earlier this week:
"[Paperwork in the case] contains details of a December 2004 incident in which [one smuggler] tried to secure transportation for 20 Middle Eastern 'terrorists' waiting to enter the United States from Monterrey, Chiapas and Puebla in Mexico.
"Recorded telephone conversations authorized under the U.S. Patriot Act and a court order captured the [suspect] referring to the 20 men as 'gente de Osama.'
According to these same court documents - the phrase translates into "Osamas people.
The court documents cited by the Herald also revealed:
"During a Jan. 5, 2005, telephone conversation, [the smuggling suspect] described the men as 'Iraqis,' ages 25 to 33, who were willing to pay $8,000 for transportation past Border Patrol checkpoints in South Texas and into the U.S. interior.
"[The suspect] mentioned that eight of the men were coming to Progreso, northwest of Brownsville. He said they were 'dangerous' and 'really bad people.' They carried guns and made the smuggler that was helping them 'afraid.'"
FBI officials declined to comment further on the case. But one federal law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity told the paper that the men labeled "terrorists turned out to be illegal aliens from a "nation of concern.
The FBI declined to say whether "Osama's people" made it across the border or if authorities had apprehended them.
Check the Senate.
Osama's people are members of the current Democrat "Traitor/Treason" Party!!!
You beat me to it. John Kerry is one of same.
How very reassuring.
Are these the same people who had these nukes to set off during Ramadan?
That is scarey $h*t
If I wree running it, OTM would be REQUIRED for entry, that is, assuming we actually needed any "guest-workers" at all.
That is, I'd absolutely seal the border with Mexico, and the point of debarkation for "guest workers" would be offshore of Guatamala, and any Mexican who wanted to sneak into the US would have to sneak into Guatamala first. I'd love to see Vincente Fox put that in his pipe and smoke it.
Sad to say that there will be NO chance of republicans keeping or gaining house seats in '06 or prez in "08 if there is a terror attack on our soil from OBL's henchmen that crossed the pourous southern border.
Personally, I would have felt much better had the mexican border security been at the top of the list of things to get right after 9/11.
Oh my, can't have the feds listening in on phone conversations, now can we?
Ping
I hope neither happens, but it is my opinion that if an attack did occur, and the terrorists did cross over the border illegally, then those who did nothing to secure the border should be held responsible. That includes Republicans and Democrats alike.
This is the tape that Pres. Bush needs to play during his State of the Union Address, with the pointed follow-up that the Lefties in this country don't want the government to gather such information through wire taps. I want to see Kennedy, Leahy, Hillary, Obama et al squirm in their seats while the nation listens to it....
Hell they were already here go to Dearborn or Newark.
No wonder OBL and Iran are so cocky. They have assets in place waiting for their appointed time.
You would think that at this point, assets would be on the border monitoring the progress of the multi-layered security barriers from the Gulf to the Pacific while stopping the invasion.
The lack of real border security, including what comes near our harbors and coastlines, is mind-boggling and treasonous, especially during a World War that has already caused so much damage inside of America.
lol
Such is their loyalties, that they would sooner risk U.S. cities be engulfed in flames, than that our borders be made secure.
I worry that you are correct, especially Iran. (and, I think they'll attack oil/gas facilities, first)
