Hey, do a search on polygamy on FR. We have a few who support it, and I suspect a few "actual" polygamists on board, as well.
No way!

God didn't plan on having four or five baby girls born for every boy because polygamy wasn't his plan! The really sad thing about this is the brainwashing has brought these kids to such confusion that they don't have a clue about how to conduct themselves in the real world. Also if you think about it the many generations of same line genetics causes numerous problems with demeanor etc.

Hey Bing...you forgot to ping.
I don't have anything to add except that polygamy also effects the throw-away girls from our society. Some of these unwanteded girls get taken-in by (or taken-by) these polygs to be their new wives. The parents of the girls don't mind...they never wanted or cared for them anyway...and there's new blood for the clan. What a deal.........ungh!

Hung over. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I had it in mind to ping, but I just got so full of myself...I forgot. Must be the halo affect of the ex-sanctimoneous bastard inside my body.
Why..... as I came down that Weber Canyon I saw a sign....WELCOME To UTAH...Home of Fisher Beer....What an indictment on the good saints of Utah to see a sign...Home Of Fisher Beer! (use your best bishop/stake president voice to repeat this.)

One of the problems with these people is that they allow the government to support their many children.

Next time I see you I will do my special talk. It is just a very funny thing I have had in my repertoire for about thirty years. Check your email. You will be bearing testimony of the truthfullness of the Sugar Knoll. That's where I have been. Last night we had one too many down at Lumpy's though.

Seems to me this is not just an issue to be dealt with by the state, but the LDS church should help with the welfare of these youth. Even though they claim to not support polygamy, they are the ones that introduced the practice into the culture of Utah in 1847. Excuse me this version of Polygamy is not what the LDS practiced?
You only know what your mind conjures up and that is very limited, for if you truely understood this Sacred Law your tongue would be still!
It is the Lord who introduce this doctrine, it was not the whim of some men as you like to imply!
Now the real situation is these children who are being abused...I happen to catch some of this on Dr Phil and they are trying to correct this situation.
Any awareness about this should help in ridding this activity and to help those who are afraid to break away!

**What is going to happen to the LDS Church if the Supreme Court rules that laws prohibiting Polygamy are unconstitutional.**
Dunno about the LDS church, but if they make it retroactive, my father and his siblings will have a burden lifted from them. My maternal grandmother was the second sister-wife in a polygamous marriage. Always wondered if that made me illegitimate!
