KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - A Good Samaritan who helped a road accident victim found himself injured and lying in a hospital bed several hours later _ next to the man he'd helped _a news report said Tuesday.
Police Sgt. Abdul Kadir Said, 47, had stopped to help victims of an accident involving two motorcycles and a truck in the northern Malaysian state of Kedah on Saturday, the New Straits Times newspaper reported.
After putting a splint on victims' broken leg, Abdul Kadir sent him in a van to hospital in Alor Star town before heading back to his police station on his motorcycle.
On the way, a teenager on another motorbike plowed into Abdul Kadir, the Times said.
It said the teenager was unhurt but Abdul Kadir suffered a broken leg and wrist, and was taken to the Alor Star hospital and placed in the bed next to the accident victim he'd helped earlier.
"I couldn't believe it when I woke up and found myself next to the man whom I had helped," he was quoted as saying.
Abdul Kadir could not be immediately reached for comment.
No good deed shall go unpunished.
