NEW YORK - A day after Hillary Clinton blasted the Bush administration and compared the Republican-controlled House of Representatives to a plantation, Republicans said Tuesday that the New York senator was out of line.
House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., said that Clinton was probably a little over the top, NBC News reported. He also said that having never run a plantation, he was unsure Clinton was implying, but if she was trying to be racist, that is unfortunate.
Clinton said on Monday had said Bushs administration was one of the worst in U.S. history and said the House has been run like a plantation, and you know what Im talking about.
She said the House has been run in a way so that nobody with a contrary view has had a chance to present legislation, to make an argument, to be heard.

Wow that's some searing flare of anger there. Two hours over that could lightly brown the exterior of a marshmallow a little.
Oh we know EXACTLY what you're talking about.
The trouble is you, Hilary, don't know what you're talking about.
I would have thought much more highly of Hastert if he had replied with some reference to Old Crusty. Stuff like that would throw the Hildebeast off her game.
Pardon me, but isn't this witch in the Senate??
Agreed.
Not even sure if she was actually 'over the top'....
There is a possibility she was 'over the top'...
If someone accused me of being a racist, I would have no choice but to remind them of the "special" relationship they have with their mother....
Covering fire for the Barrett Report?
Eight years of her scumbag husband should be enough for HITLERY to know what a real Plantation was like with the MASSA hoseing all the help.
(Speaking during a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event, Clinton offered an apology to a group of Hurricane Katrina survivors on behalf of a government that left you behind, that turned its back on you.)
She and her husband are so good for "apologizing" for other people to score political points. Is there any integrity left in that woman? In that party? (apart from Liebermann)
Not only that, they'll say something like "That'll show YOU, Senator Clinton, Your Highness, Ma'am. Need any groveling today? Our spines are very flexible, so we can bow down before your powerful presence even lower than we did for you yesterday!"
"GOP anger flares" sounds like a flicker to me. Is there anything that will grab the Republicans by the shorts and make them a bit more than "girlie men"? If so, what would that be? Our President has been called a lier, a "Hitler", a terrorist. Republican members of the House have been likened to "plantation" owners and Presidential appointments have been labeled bigots, liers, crooks, etc. and all we get is a mumbling that Billary might be a bit over the top??
Looks like Hitlery might turn out to be a divisive candidate.
I wonder which definition of plantation she was referring to:
Main Entry: plan·ta·tion
Pronunciation: plan-'tA-sh&n
Function: noun
1 : a usually large group of plants and especially trees under cultivation
2 : a settlement in a new country or region (Plymouth Plantation)
3 a : a place that is planted or under cultivation b : an agricultural estate usually worked by resident labor
Tne only other Republican quote in the article is from Scot McClellon, who said her remarks were "out of bounds".
The article seems to differ with the headline.
Is it just me, or did anyone else think Hillary kinda put on a fake "black preacher" accent while speaking? It was much more subtle than Al Gore's black church's accent/voice, but I thought it didn't sound like her regular voice. Anyone else hear it? ..or not?
Hillary must be LHAO with that tough guy response by Hastert. Holy Moses, his milk toast response disgusts me [much] more than her inflammatory race baiting.
These GOP clowns have "doormat" tattooed on their foreheads and "kick me" signs on their backs.
I would even consider saying that the DIMs would be stupid if they didn't bash these invertebrate pubbies.
