A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Hello, Finest Shoppers. Please come in and have a cup of tea or coffee while you browse through all the lovely fashions for our T.G.I.F.'s "Wear Red on Friday to Support the Troops". You will find casual jeans with comfortable shoes, dressy jeans and boots, daytime wear for professionals, and a few cocktail dresses for Friday evening - all in red, of course, and all for that one special day each week at the Finest as we get together for "the wearing o' the red.".

If you see something you like, let me know which one, and I will reserve it for you with your name so that you might wear it on Fridays. In the event more than one FReeper requests the same outfit, I will give it to the first one who asks for it, so let me know your second and third choice as well.

So, if you're ready to shop, let's go! Let's make Fridays at the Finest our "Puttin' on the Ritz, puttin' on the Red" Day!

Casual Jeans

I'm thinking if we're being honest, most of us fall into this category most of the time. If you want something along these lines and there's enough interest in the jeans and red tops, I can try to mix and match other hairdos, etc. I have to say, though, I've already decided that one on the far right is *you*, dutchess! :)

Dressy Jeans

Doesn't everyone have a pair of red leather jeans? Or are yours black? :) Okay, even plain denim jeans are fun to dress up with a jacket or pretty sweater or blouse. And of course *all* of us need an outfit like the one on the far left!

Short Skirts - Of Course!

Short skirts, tall boots..... and fishnet stockings?! Or maybe a cute schoolgirl look.

The Working Woman

Well, that sweet young thing in the ruffled skirt works in a boutique, dontcha know. I'll take that trenchcoat - in many colors. :)

Young... or Young at Heart

I think thats our little sistah GeeBee on the far right, looking awfully sweet - and pretty as a picture!

Cocktail Dresses

This may be the prettiest red group of all to me. The *little black dress* can't hold a candle to these three little red ones! Come and get 'em!

More Party Dresses

If we didn't have a party to attend before, we'll just have one at the Finest on Friday nights. I love that short sequinned dress, second from left!

Oh, Yeah - The Guys

Did you think I'd forget the guys? NO WAY! How much more red could they wear, unless maybe a little ketchup on their jeans. :)

Loving The Unlovable

Read:
Luke 19:1-10

The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. —Luke 19:10

Bible In One Year: Genesis 41-42; Matthew 12:1-23

cover Zacchaeus was easy to dislike. As a tax collector for an oppressive occupying government, he made himself rich by overcharging his countrymen. Yet, to the consternation of the crowd, Jesus honored him by going to his house and eating with him.

A judge with a reputation for toughness tells how he learned to relate to unlovable people. In a Sunday morning homily his clergyman urged the congregation to try to look at people through the eyes of Jesus.

A few days later the judge was about to give a stiff sentence to an arrogant young man who kept getting in trouble. But then he remembered what the minister had suggested. The judge said, "I looked this young man in the eye and told him I thought he was a bright and talented human being. And then I said to him, 'Let's talk together about how we can get you living in more creative and constructive ways.' We had a surprisingly good conversation."

Jesus saw Zacchaeus as a sinner with an empty hole that only He could fill, and through His kindness Zacchaeus was transformed. The judge could not report any such change, but who knows the long-term outcome? He set a good example for all of us, because he saw the man through the eyes of Jesus. —Herb Vander Lugt

We need to see through Jesus' eyes
Our neighbors who are lost;
For then we will reach out to them,
Regardless of the cost. —Sper

True compassion will put love into action.

Good to see you, Gabz!

Luv, I was afraid some might not *read* the opening, and misunderstand - it's shopping FOR Red Friday. :(

Hi, Rus. Back in the morning!

tulip - I'm more jeans casual, too.

I will make notes of preferences! :)

Good very late evening, Mayor. Hope you have a good day tomorrow.

Thanks for our beautiful lesson from God's Word. God is Love and makes us lovable in the process.

I'll take a pass on all those fancy Boutique shops, and just pick up one of those red sweatshirts at my tailor - Jacque C. Penne. For headgear, I'll stick with my navy blue cap with the USS PIEDMONT AD-17 embroidered on it.

With that story of Zacchaeus, you got me singing that song from Sunday School from when I was a pup.

Many legislators in this country should learn from the story of Zacchaeus.
