We are conservatives, we are supposed to be realists. In Africa, the data says AIDS isn't a homosexual disease. Banning Gays from giving blood is like putting a finger in the New Orleans Levee.

And the other 70% can now look forward to homoblood flowing through their veins after they give birth and need a transfusion.

Beautiful, eh?

With a country with an AIDS rate as high as South Africa, frankly, people do need to be discriminated against and all blood needs to be tested. Perhaps women, age 18-24, need to be tested, as well.

But I think this action by gays is indicative of what happens when you let gay rights take a prominent role in your government. All reason goes out the window (come on, you're letting two men or two women marry?).

And yes, it might be worth noting that an activist judge in South Africa declared that not allowing gay marriage was "unconstitutional." So their legislature has basically been given the same mandate that occurred in Massachusetts: legalize it, or we will.

You are right- a finger to stop the New Orlean's levee failures during the Cat 3 hurricane did nothing to stem the flow of water into failed areas- as such policies were the result of long time apathy for reality. Please expound on the virtues of allowing Gay men anywhere to donate blood, organs or tissue.

And also to note, whoever is making the claim that girls age 18-24 represent the highest incidence of AIDS of any South African demographic isn't being fully honest.

Fact of the matter is that South Africans don't know what percentage of gay males are affected.

What is interesting is that females aged 18-24 were 8 times more likely than males to be HIV+. Sounds the belief that raping a virgin as a cure for HIV is still alive and well in South Africa. And yes, South Africa does have the highest rate of rape in the world.

Alliance spokesman Juan Uys describes the question as "humiliating, offensive and an insult to gay men".

. . .and why is that? Seems they betray themselves here. . .

Examine their motive. Their motive simply stated is to deliberately spread disease by lying

Their lying is a terroristic threat.

He says all blood should be treated equally.

Love me, love my fatal blood-transmitted disease.

then South African women between the ages of 18 and 24 should not be allowed to donate, as research shows that they are the group with the highest HIV infection rate in the country.

Soooooo, when they turn 25 they outgrow it? Or do they just die?

Not that I condone being gay, but..

Are we still in an era where we believe if your gay then you have AIDS?

By now I would think way more heterosexual people have HIV than gays.

Will we have separate toilets for gays too? I believe it's a ridiculous question to ask if your gay or not before you donate blood. Having homosexual intercourse does not "create" the AIDS virus.

Only if they have the disease. Not because they choose to be gay.

He says if people were discriminated against based on risk, then South African women between the ages of 18 and 24 should not be allowed to donate, as research shows that they are the group with the highest HIV infection rate in the country.

[He] speaketh with homosexual agenda forked tongue. Risk involves probability of infection. Comparing and contrasting the homosexual population with the women between 18 and 24 as to number infected has nothing to do with infection rates -- e.g. 90% of a population can be infected and without new infections have a zero infection rate...

Only if they have the disease. Not because they choose to be gay.

More precisely because [they] engage in high risk behavior (anal sex). If it was just a homosexual issue the females would be barred as well -this is all about high risk behavior whether it be anal sex IV drug use whatever...

Common sense even if uncommon will eventually prevail as only those observing it ultimately survive any crisis and tend to pass on the 'sense' that one again becomes common...

"Gay activists in South Africa have vowed to "flood" the country's blood services with blood donated by gay men."

This gives a validity to the term 'homophobia'.
With the Gays...it's all about themselves and their little dramas.

This example of gays bashing reminds me of the example of gay-bashing in Sodom (note that it's the "gays" who are doing the bashing here too, until they step over the line and get slapped down - and blinded). The "righteous Lot" doesn't get a very good mark for his behavior either - turning one's daughters over to a mob to be raped? Grrrr. That's taking the duty to be hospitable quite a bit too far!

Genesis 19
Sodom’s Depravity

1 Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. 2 And he said, “Here now, my lords, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” And they said, “No, but we will spend the night in the open square.” 3 But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

4 Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. 5 And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.”

6 So Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him, 7 and said, “Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly! 8 See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please, let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof.”

9 And they said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.” So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door. 10 But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door. 11 And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.

Africa is different from the US. To be gay in the US it means to have sex with men. In Africa, it means to say that you are gay. There's a lot of men in Africa who have sex with other men but don't consider themselves homosexual.

Think about it, the Red Cross, doesn't say "Are you Homosexual..." but have you ever had sexual contact with another man.

Also in South Africa, the former president claimed HIV did not cause AIDS, like liberals, they are just trying to pass the blame to somebody else.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance says its members would lie when asked the question: "Have you had male-to-male sex in the past five years?"

Why am I not surprised they'd lie?

Maybe Lot was smart enough to know his daughters wouldn't interest them?
