Candid candidate: Hackett calls ’em like he sees ’em (Religious right same as Osama Bin Ladin)

(snip) "The Republican Party has been hijacked by the religious fanatics that, in my opinion, arent a whole lot different than Osama bin Laden and a lot of the other religious nuts around the world," he said. "The challenge is for the rest of us moderate Americans and citizens of the world to put down the fork and spoon, turn off the TV, and participate in the process and try to push back on these radical nuts and they are nuts." So much for gobbledygook. Joe Hallett is senior editor at The Dispatch.

That makes a lot of sense. You can't go another day without reading about an Evangelical Christian suicide bomber or an IED placed by an enraged baptist.

More damage has been done to this country by domestic traitors than by any foreign terrorists whatsoever.
This "citizen of the world" is a good example.

paul hackett is a hack. He ran against Jean Schmidt in Ohio district 2 and even used President Bush in a positive way in campaign ads, but then he would go talk to his moonbat base with talk such as the above.
He's also a trial lawyer.

Hackett is showing that he is incapable of differentiating between a person, who walks into a Restaurant and blows themselves up and a person who walks into a church to pray and to contribute to the plight of their fellow man. Hackett is destorying his chances of winning an election. I love it. If the Democrats are going to take this message to the people they are going to be left with shrinking minorities in the Senate and the House. The anti-religious left should stop picking fights they can not win.

"Break into my house, we won’t have to worry about the application of the death penalty. It’s going to be a simple 911 call: Come pick up the body." It's ok for him to kill them just not the state.
To: hipaatwo
Isn't he the one who tried to win an election recently by associating himself with President Bush? And isn't he the one whose loss to a Republican was touted as a victory for the democrats because it was a close race?

re: he wasnt packing at our coffee klatch
Good thing you weren't meeting at that Luby's Cafeteria in Killeen, TX, a few years back. Even a single 'packster' could have saved a lot of lives, especially one with this man's training and experience.

If he were a true libertarian, I might even like this guy, although I disagree with him on his destruction of the family leanings.
Has he addressed that other core Democrat tenet requiring taking from producers to the benefit of non-producers? You can go on and on with this line of thinking. The biggest problem among liberals, even pro second amendment liberals, is their insisting on denying first amendment rights to Christians and Jews. My guess is, when you start tearing into this guy's philosophy, it isn't the least bit libertarian.

Intersting that Hackett makes usch remarks, considering he claimed to be pro-life in the special election for the OH-02.

re: Hackett said anybody who tries to deny homosexuals the same rights, including marriage, as every other citizen is un-American
If you have a race between a Ford Mustang and a souped-up Dodge Colt would it be correct to call it a 'horse race'? Same thing with most Christian's concerns about same-sex marriage. Marriage is defined in the book that Christians believe to be the word of God as the union of a man and a woman. Speaking solely for myself, if two men or two women want to have a special relationship that provides them with the same benefits as those enjoyed by a married couple that's perfectly OK by me. I have no quarrel with others' religious or spiritual beliefs. When I stand before my Creator to give an account of my life I will be expected to account only for jwpjr, no one else. What I think of another person's lifestyle won't matter one bit. I have enough on my plate to answer for now, I certainly can't be expected to speak against, or for, others. Their lifestyle, to the extent that it doesn't harm anyone else, is a matter between their creator and themselves.
I know of very few people who call themselves Christians that feel much different from this. It's a mistake to clump all of any group as one and stereotype them.

Hackett is indeed a loose canon. Hackett winning the primary would be a birthday gift to DeWine.
