I know, I know...he's said he's not interested in running but we can still hope he'll change his mind! LOL
Cheney has deep understanding of politics and security. But he has a heart condition, and the MSM loathes him. On top he lacks GW's charisma to overcome the MSM. Don't underestimate the power of the MSM.
I believe Cheney would make a superb President. I also believe he has no ineterst in the job. Perhaps that is why he would be so good at it.
Gosh, I wish our VP's health was better. I'd vote for him for Prez in a flash.
But they'll probably end up giving us some RINO (sigh).
He'd have my vote. I just wish he hadn't had four heart attacks, bypass surgery, an angioplasty, a stent to bring to the top job.
As long as he helps with the selection process.........
Yup and they'll dress him up in conservative clothing to rally the base. I haven't figured out who the power brokers have chosen yet but none of the names floating have me excited.
I predict for many here'll (myself included I'd say) be about voting against the Dems rather than for the GOP.
Ge deosn't have to run, all he has to do is SAY he'srunning and it's "Good-bye Helen Thomas"
Long night last night?
His health is profoundly better than was FDR's when he ran the fourth time. Everyone pretty much knew FDR wouldn't live through his forth term which is why the question of who was vice prez was so hotly fought. Fortunately, Truman won that fight and FDR's death came within weeks of the inaugeration.
He has too many health concerns. And I don't think he wants to run.
The MSM got sKerry w/in 3 percentage points of W in '04. My guess is that it was their high-water mark. Cheney is beloved by the base. Very many 'Icans would be eager to turn out to vote for Dick in '08, especially with sHrillary as his opponent and Condi as his running mate.
It won't happen. America will be too worried he's too close to that one heart beat that puts his VP in the history books.
Cheny is a smart man and certainly qualified, but so are many others who are not as close to medical intervention.
I say we allow some new, fresh public servsnts into the mix and quit dwelling on past success. We need to look into the future and elect someone who has some energy and can commit to a long term of public service.
Cheny has been a good horse, but he is tired of the ride.
Is it even possible that he COULD be elected? Does Cheney have the "Hillary effect" on the right-leaning moderates, perhaps pushing them away from the Republican ticket?
Just a thought... I always thought that Cheney wasn't visible enough to the public to elect as a president, but I love the guy, personally. He's got that grandfatherly sort of quality that makes him an attractive candidate.
I can just imagine the machinations by the MSM if he gets on the Rep. ticket.
I've always been amazed that the world has looked at the United States--the most successful nation in world history--and no other countries have decided to structure themselves according to our Constitution. Of course, our 'Rat Party has a long history of trying hard to ignore our proven recipe for success by doing their best to scrap our founding documents.
Just as long as no one posts the pictures of her.
If he did run the MSM would march a different doctor on the news everynight asking" How is Cheneys health since he left HAAALIIIIBUUUURTOOOON?
