All I can think is, about how the 'Nam vets were treated.
Spit upon, literally and figuratively.

Thank you very much. I was part of that early effort (VN war), was discharged right before it got into full-blown mobilization and so when I came back to my little conservative small-town Texas, I didn't feel the brunt of the vitriol of the cowards of the Left. My buddies ending their service just a year or two later sure did. What a disgrace.
And here we are 30+ years later and it's happening again! Perhaps not the spitting (because I do think that now we would see some broken jaws) but the constant anti-troop yapping which is certainly having a negative impact on morale, the most important factor in fighting any conflict.
Sedition at the very least--but nothing happens, we certainly have some cowards on our "side"...
