How horrible for everyone involved -- the troubled kid, his family, and the officer who must be feeling guilty, even though he knows he did what he should have done. Prayers for all involved.
How true... could the officer go back into the field and be expected NOT to hesitate the next time someone point a weapon at him?
I thought the same thing that you did. This is an awful situation for all concerned. I read the part in the article where it was said he was just a normal kid, and I thought no, no he isn't. Why couldn't he have just put the gun down when told to? Prayers for all.
Yes, it's a terrible thing. I was about 10 years old when a kid in our neighborhood was found at home with a gunshot wound to the head. He was only 13.
His parents were devastated. Police ruled it a suicide, but the kids parents and a lot of us wondered if it could have just been an accident.
We'll never know, but something like this sticks with you a long time. I still remember the moment when I heard the news of his death just as clearly as if it had happened yesterday.
Like you said, prayers for all involved.
Agreed. Prayers for all. Really sad.

This is so right.
