Chemerinsky up, I can't stand this guy.

He is dishonest. Did you see the conflicting statements he has made on the judicial filibuster?

Has anyone seen any analysis of Alito's lawclerks?.. I get the sense he's appointed a lot of liberals...I hope that changes..

I think the main thing is that Alito is not on a liberal mission and will follow the law.

BTW....

SALIM AHMED HAMDAN V. DONALD RUMSFELD
January 12, 2006

The U.S. Government files a brief with the Supreme Court seeking to dismiss a Guantanamo detainee's case from the Court's docket. The government argues that when Congress passed the Detainee Treatment Act of 2005 (signed into law on December 30, 2005), it meant that "alien[s] held in military custody at Guantanamo Bay" could not seek writs of habeas corpus in federal court challenging the legality of their military detentions.

You know, every dem Senator and most the dem witnesses seem to be obsessed with the idea that they have to pull power away from the executive branch.

That says one interesting thing to me. It's almost as if they are throwing in the towel on getting the executive branch back very soon.

Yup, here's one for their side.

Seems to me that one or two of his clerks testified yesterday in his favor. Loved the way his former classmate slapped down that assistant professor (Liu) yesterday.

JL: Well, that would be great. Well, Beethoven would just...that would be perfect, because Beethoven in the later years of his life was deaf. And if Biden's asking the question, you don't have to hear, because he's just going to talk for 28 minutes.

*guffaw*

Brilliant analogy!

Lileks is the best.

Wow, there's almost no one there. Why have the witnesses at all if no one's going to listen to them?
