Alito accused of racism
Washington Times ^ | January 12, 2006 | Charles Hurt

Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday raised the volume of their objections to the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. by grilling him over his ties to a Princeton alumni group that they called racist and misogynist. They also accused Judge Alito of always ruling against "the little guy" and of evading their questions on abortion and such other hot-button issues as his membership in Concerned Alumni of Princeton, which opposed the admission of women to the all-male school. "Explanations about the membership in this sort of radical group and why you listed it on your job application are extremely troubling," said Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat. "And, in fact, I don't think that they add up."

I think I detect a pattern here. When was the last Republican Supreme Court nominee not accused of being a racist? I cant remember.

In Kennedy's warped little wiskey saturated mind, he really believes he is making a lucid argument.

In reality............

After spending the past two days marveling at Judge Alito's ability to remain calm in the face of these personal attacks I realized he has defeated the democrats as that is their plan. They are trying to get him to be intemperate and he has squashed them.

One reporter said Alito is getting mad because his ears get red!!

This is a damned lie! Larua Ingraham was on the Board of CAP and was the editor of their magazine.

The Spectre allowed these a$$hats two months to dig up all the dirt on Judge Alito. They, so far, have come up with the BFD fact that the judge once supported ROTC at Princeton, and was a subscriber to a campus publication that later featured a few controversial articles.

Only the terminally stupid among the viewers will give this baloney any credence, but Uncle Teddy just can't give it up. IMHO this is a very healthy process, and will absolutely guarantee that, once confirmed, we will have yet another SC justice that gets the full picture of how utterly dangerous the left has become in this country.

Don't look for much legislating from the bench in favor of the lefties from this man with a very good memory. Kennedy, Schumerde, Kohl, Leahy, et.al. have just performed a more valuable public service than anything they ever have done in their entire careers in "public service". The joke's on them.

Biden was on CNN with Blitzer yesterday afternoon saying what a despicable group this was(tell a lie often enough...) as they discussed Mrs. Alito's emotional exit. Wolfie kept saying... “But it was Lindsay Graham who made her cry!”

They should watch Kennedy's lips.

Okay, we have the racist accusation. So, when do the sexist/ homophobe charges get leveled?

So, when do the sexist/ homophobe charges get leveled?

They were leveled in the same period of "questioning" by Kennedy. He demanded they shut the questioning down to vote on a subpoena fro papers from this group that the NYT already had. He then got all over Specter and they went at it, it was great. Kennedy acted like a little child and demanded they go into the chamber to vote and said he would keep demanding and demanding until he got his way.

Specter told him that he ran the committee and he wouldn't let Teddy take it over, slammed his gavel and moved to Grassleys questions. It was very good.

Like Rush said yesterday, Alito wont even let his kids see Brokeback Mountain so that proves he is a homophobe.

Ah, it was implicitly implied by the swimmah's implications. I heard the crybaby exchange with Specter, but I was too busy laughing to actually notice what he was babbling about.

I thought that Mrs. Alito's tears spoke volumes about how the cruelty of the left effects women while they claim to be the advocates of women. HA! They are advocates of killing babies. That is clear. Their minds are one track as we have witnessed in these hearings. Abortion! Abortion! Abortion! My husband asked me last evening.."What do they have to gain from being so obsessed with abortion?" My only answer was that perhaps, their largest political contributors are those who support abortion and who are in the abortion industry. Judge Alito is a great human being aside from his credentials making him the best candidate for the Supreme Court in 70 years. Who among us could have sat there, not flinching, in the face of irrational thought and abuse like I have never seen in any group of decent human beings before. The left has reached a new low. This is not the process our system condones. I was so happy when Senator Spector tore into Ted Kennedy, who is a totally unfair, unjust, leftist who, evidently, thinks he runs everything..All he has is family wealth which has bought him influence over this nation for years. How tragic! Thank you, Mrs. Alito, for showing us the very human face of how women react to injustice and abuse. Your tears are representative of those of a nation under attack from those who do not understand that freedom is not free. It requires discipline which is not evident anywhere among the Democrats on that panel.

CNN is out of the closet. Up until the last couple of years they used to pretend a kind of liberal neutrality, today they are openly a voice of the DNC.

Guilt by association... that's a winning strategy for Democrats!

Let's see: Senator Clinton, tell us about your defending the Black Panthors during your days at Yale Law School...

Senator Kennedy: Do you consider yourself a Democrat? And you support Democrats? Do you know that Marion Barry, former Mayor of DC is a Democrat? And was recently tested positive for coccaine????? You support coccaine addiction?????

This could be fun.
