125 is the median for 65",
at 10 to 20 Percent above and you have 137 to 149 and that is NOT by medical standards obese.
We live in a frickin' brainwashed society where normal wimmen are damned and neurotic skeletons are put on pedestals.
No wonder prozac was invented.:)
Depends on what you call fat. I like some meat on the bones.
It's a plot by the gay male dominated fashion industry.
Thin, skinny, "Athletic" in the female form is a recent phenomenon in our culture.
Women are supposed to have a certain amount of body fat. We were made to have hips, a lower slightly rounded tummy etc. But now women with normal size hips are freaking out....even those in perfect shape... And heaven forbid if they don't have a sixpack!
Because we've make all women think they need to look like boys to be beautiful...., with hips that couldn't pass a pecan, much less a baby. The standard is so damningly narrow that 92% of the female population couldn't acheive it without surgery or starvation.
I was around when Twiggy came on the scene.
I remember when my first anorexic client.
I remember my first bulemic.
I have a patient who is addicted to exercise. I love her, but she only talks about how lean she is and how many miles she ran yesterday. I absolutely HATE being around her....and she's ripped. But totally vapid and pretty much...that's all she is...Suzie who ate so many grams of CHO and ran X miles.
Look, I've gotten real with my clients and patients....mostly I tell them that if some thinks they look fat, when they are healthy, fit and happy...to tell the jerk to 'eff off ;)
Right. And that's part of the greater plot of the military industrial complex being a front for multi-national corporations whose sole purpose is to conspire against Michael Jackson's monkey.
This is a ch__ch. What's missing?
OK,
You have your opinion about what is attractive. I'm on the front lines to see that standard liberalized to something way more normal and healthy.
Understand, for most women, it would destroy their health to reach the extremely narrow standard of 'beauty' that you put forth.
This is like foot binding. Just as damaging and in 100 years we'll look back and say "what the heck!?!?" I think these women are gorgeous.
Which just cracks me up when I see hetero, conservative males buying into the 'skinny hips are beautful' stuff. Hello! Look at some of these skinny models! They are boys with boobs! Even their arms are emaciated
These are often the same men who say 'Women should be stay at home moms and have lots of babies'... Erm, not if they don't have hips, they won't (or not easily, happily or frequently ;) )
Well, there is some substance in the correlation between the upsurge in gay male fashion designers and increasely boyish frames of runway models.
Funny, but if I have a client at a BMI of 19,
I have to write an emergency care plan because they're at high risk (which is often true) The irony never escapes me.
I love you too!
There's a reason for the skeletor look; the fashion industry and hollywood trying to get men to want women who look like young boys.
Give you a woman? I thought you WERE a woman!
;-)
I know what you meant!
Exactly. When I take a girl out to dinner, I'd rather see her order a steak than a salad!! Doesn't mean it has to be a 20 ounce steak though.
And another point, you don't have to eat rabbit food to be healthy. You can eat good, real food, as long as you eat in reasonable quantities!
All I'm saying is that women who are living longer and longer lives, and are still vital until well past menopause should not be held up to the standard of 18 year old cheerleaders. And yes, 100 years ago, the world had a healthier view of what made a woman...well, a woman. So that is the narrowness of the view. You're only in that time frame of imagined 'perfection' for a brief moment.
BTW, I've known lots of puking cheerleaders....in fact, I think you'd be surprised at the real reason they use Altoids. Believe me, from my side of the stand, I'd rather see happier, rounder women and less Syrup of Ipecac.
Other of yesterday's hot women that today's aneorexic loving culture mavens might call "overweight" are Jayne Mansefield, Sophia Loren, Ava Gardner, Sheree North, Lana Turner, Liz Taylor, Lena Horne, Linda Christian, Gloria Grahame, Mamie Van Doren, Bettie Page and Mae West.
Obviously, one thing that all these women have in common is the blessing of an abundance of womanly curves. And that is PRECISELY why they are condemned as overweight today. The culture is heavily influenced by the taste setting trends of homosexuals (particularly in the fashion industry) who today can be more open about women who look like they have the figures of adolescent boys.
I advise Image Googling "Vida Guerra."
Not DUE to it, no. However, the push for young girls to have a "perfect" body (which is all relative) can be a contributing factor to eating disorders.
