I blame her for her naiveity in thinking she's safe in a "tropical paradise". It's in the Third World nontheless. I've been to a number of Third World hell holes myself, and they are not safe.

No mention of how heinous the attackers' actions are, either.

No need for me to mention how heinous the rapists were. It's all in the article. Maybe the other crewmates were involved too. We'll never know.

The victim put herself in a dangerous position. Consider the reputation of Thai fishermen. They were the pirates that killed and raped and plundered so many of the escaping Boat People not so very long ago. Where she was, fishermen and boats were surely evident. That is not to "blame" her for her fate. If there have been no incidents then people don't worry, especially on a pleasant beach.
