Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't these special plates bring in a little more money for the state (possibly used for road funds)? A fairly harmless way to collect a bit more without raising taxes or any other such nonsense. Not to mention the positive message plates like this send...
What I want is a "Legislator tag". Pay the surcharge when getting your tag, and the clerk hands you the nice wood tag, three nails, and rules for how to legally bag your Legislator to adorn your vanity tag.
ACLU, go stick it!
Well I'm for it!
I'm for it too.
I have never had, nor plan to have, any of the "special" plates issued by the IBMV. I see those folks with "Celebrate The Arts!" on their plates, and I can't help but snicker "Stupid Liberal!" to myself.
Nor do I have bumper stickers on my car. I like to remain as anonymous as possible when out in public.
But if people want to put "In God We Trust" on their license plates, it's their dime as far as I'm concerned.
