LOL! Maybe you and my old webtv 56k should start a club!

Believe me, I don't like 56K dialup. But I live in the boonies and DSL and cable are not offered here and satellite Internet is too expensive and unreliable.

It would be interesting if John could put a poll on the forum home page about how FReepers connect to the Internet.

The Barrett Report is being blocked by Democrats and unwittingly being helped by Republicans in Congress.

While I too feel Bush needs to get tougher on the issues, this one is out of his hands, it appears.

Everyone needs to deluge Congress with demands this report be released in it's entirety and not censored, as the Dems are getting away with.

Hi! Kyl is a good man. Here in Fla. we've only got one Dem. to remove and that's Bill Nelson. Otherwise the whole state is Republican including the legislature. But the main task of true conservatives is to eliminate all vestiges of RINOism. We need root and branch reform in the party because only a purged party can offer a clear and decisive option and choice to voters. I don't know about you but I'm so nauseated and disgusted with this "big tent" and "diversified party" crap that I think I'll p--- on the next brochure that says it. Do we need any more RINOs like Hagel and Graham? Hell no! And they've as much as said they don't need us. So let them run as Independents or form a new RINO PARTY.

I got the webtv as a gift.It has it's limitations, but I've actually enjoyed playing around with it.

I certainly know what you mean about dial-up speed though! :)

Hey Doug, have you done a song about the Barrett report? If you have, I guess I missed it. If not, I look forward to it. Cheers!

My first computer was a MacIntosh Performa and I believe I had an 8k dialup, but that may have been my memory(8mb) for all the good my memory is now. Until very recently, I had been on 56k since buying an Imac in 99. Now we have highspeed through our cable service and it is great.

thanks for the ping.

How aggravating it is? The republican majority can't force the release of the findings. Can't or won't?

But still, it's good to know this is still getting some ink.

Sadly nothing of any significance will be released to the American public. Like ANY Congressional Hearing...the deals in...and once again the American public will be left trying to figure out what really happened. The truth suffers anytime there's a hearing, commission,or for that matter, a picnic, that has anything to do with Congress. Congressmen are responsible for making laws and upholding them....when it comes to responsibility...don't ever count on a Congressman.
The American public will be fed scandals till the end of time...any election year, anytime an elected official has to produce accomplishments, your fed a scandal to chew on..
Every time you hear the phrase, "they all do it", it's true.
The phrase is used to end the conversation. Want to point out an injustice, certain inconsistencies? Most likely you'll hear.."they all do it". Give the American people enough to disgust them...produce voter APATHY...then we all get reelected.
The problem now, is we face an enemy in a very dangerous time. A time when it calls for real statesmen TO ACT, instead we have politicians more interested in getting reelected. To expect the truth from an investigation, a hearing,or a commission run by another politician on a politician whether done by a so called independent prosecutor or not is just dreaming.
Produce voter apathy, we all keep our jobs.

If top-secret NSA activities can be leaked to the threat to the nation's security surely a report about one of Clinton's lawbreaking slick greasy pimps can find its way to a leak somehow!
C'mon, what's it take? How 'bout a reward? Nobody with the testicular fortitude? Surely the Barrett Report has been around long enough for half of D.C. to quote it verbatim.
Hey, leave a copy in a cab! On the subway! How about leaving a copy where the Rose Law Firm billing records were found?

I had to laugh first, but what you say is so true. Heck, the Barrett Report has nothing to do with national security, but somehow "Clinton security" is more important? Give me a break.

Has anyone seen posted a listing of just the Representatives in the House, Repub and Dem, who got "their little cash fix" fro Mr Abramoff? It took a while but in another thread someone had all the Senators, Repub and Dem, in one list.

Funny but "Dear Ole" Harry and Nancy (lovely couple) just can't get a break. The corrupt Republicans and this is just a Republican scandal. Give me a break, it appears that Mr Abramoff spread the wealth and few turned it sown.

I would truly like to see this report released, I believe in a "Democracy" it should be. I've emailed my two Senators and my Congressman stating just that.

I read about the court case that has 'deleted' some of this. Does anyone have the name or cause and court? Has anyone looked to see what the transcript actually said?

IMHO former President Bubba, excuse me William Jefferson Clinton got off easy being impeached on "sex". If it had been on his true failing while in office, national security - firing squad more than likely.

I appreciate the idea and want to do a song about this, but that one isn't getting me too excited.

Not surprising, once I gave it a second thought.
Plus, I just realized I combined two songs:
Here we go round the mulberry bush
and
All around the cobbler's bench.

Doesn't the Independent Counsel officially work for Justice? That's the executive branch. Why can't he simply order the whole report released?

The solution is to take our party back

That's been tried. And teh government under "our" party keeps getting bigger, more expensive, more intrusive. The Republicans and the Democrats have fewere and fewer differences every dday, and it's not because the Democirats are moving our way. The Republicans don't even try to preserve limited government. They're every bit as eager to hand out goodies as the Dimmycraps are.
