Sierra Nevadas get kind of nasty warm, of course they ship with active yeast so when the beer gets warm the yeast "wakes up" and starts doing it's yeasty thing. It's a good way to maintain freshness during shipping but it definitely makes a beer that must be consumed cold.

I enjoy Sierra Nevada pale ale quite a bit, so they've never had the chance to get warm on my watch. Thanks for the warning.
