Ping!

Although the ComPost mentions Free Republic, they mislead their readers by not mentioning the "CommonDreams" (Democrats.com) press release yesterday wherein Democrats.com and AfterDowningStreet.org take credit for this "Townhall Meeting" and more than 130 others across the country scheduled for this weekend.

That's an important fact; of course the ComPost would omit it.

He did state the Democrat position succinctly

Yes he did. The WaPo failed to mention the part where he worries about "a slow withdrawal which makes it look like there's a victory", finally acknowledging that the dims do not want a military victory in Iraq.

Many of those at yesterday's forum were Iraq veterans who support Murtha and detailed their frustration with botched missions and shared flak jackets. But one veteran angrily confronted him.

Those who watched CSPAN may want to comment on this.

Plus, they didn't mention all the Larouchies out there to support Moron and Murtha.

Some of the anti-war veterans may have been real, but others were highly suspect.

Remember that the Vietnam Veterans Against the War was filled with many who were not even vets, let alone Vietnam vets.

(Hell, there were a very small percentage of WWII vets, especially among those severely injured, who came home claiming that the nation didn't appreciate their sacrifices. Some also claimed that the war was a result of incompetant leadership and that vets' sacrifices and efforts were for naught. In those days, such embittered vets were largely ignored as cranks. Today, if one out of a hundred vets makes similar charges, that vet becomes a media darling.)

The young man who chewed out Moran for not writing or coming to the homecoming party said that the guy whining about sharing a flak jacket with his Staff Sargeant self identified himself as being Battalion S-1. For those who don't know what ballation S-1 does:

Battalion Personnel Actions Center (BNS1):

The PAC is the unit's nerve center for soldier actions, legal, promotions, evaluations awards, and many other important soldier needs. The S1 is the battalion's basic personnel manager. His role has two parts. The functional role of the S1 consists of supervising and coordinating the unit's personnel and administration systems. In addition, he is also entrusted with the traditional role of the adjutant, serving the commander across a wide range of activities. The S1 is the essential administrative liaison between companies at the battalion and the brigade. He handles personnel actions which flow from the companies to brigade or the military personnel office. Additionally, the S1 performs the personnel functions of special staff officers at higher levels, e.g., PAO.

Like the young man said outside later he probably was never more than two steps from his rack and rarely left the bunker.

She is a mess isn't she! She may have been a good Marine in the past but will now be remembered as Murtha Maureen.
