While I realize there are many, many good and hard-working people in nations like Mexico, it worries me to a large degree that we seem to be importing their population. It seems inevitable that we will import their problems as well.

Communism in Mexico would solve our illegal immigration problem. See, no one in Mexico would leave the perfect world of communism to be in capitalism.
