Refuses to Compromise to Stay on Air
January 1, 2006
Dear Paul and Jan,
Paul, Jr. relayed your message to me that you are both in agreement on the policy of nothing negative being said on TBN about Muslims. Hearing that you also warned John Haggee, Perry Stone, Jack VanImpe and others of this policy caused me to realize that your are not going to modify your position.
I love and respect you both and know your heart for evangelism of the Muslims. But I don't agree with your reasoning that warning about the dangers of "radical Islam" is a hindrance to the Gospel to all Muslims. The 'Radicals' are intimidating the moderate Muslims -- not to mention their terrible persecution of Arab and Palestinian Christians.
Jesus confronted false religion (which Islam is) by calling them "whitewashed tombstones", "Brood of vipers", and "sons of hell" in Matthew 23.
I am sure of my calling from the LORD. One important part of that calling is to sound a prophetic alarm to America and the world about the dangers of the false religion of Fundamental Islam. It is a "Watchman on the Wall" kind of calling.
In addition, the IIB is a news show from a Christian perspective. It is impossible to report the news without mentioning in a 'negative light' the radical Islamists who are wreaking murder and destruction on the Western world daily. It is truthfully reporting the most relevant news that made IIB one the most popular programs on TBN.
It is also absolutely unacceptable to me to require my script to be submitted for censorship each week and then to learn whether my program will be aired or not. I don't have much money and it costs me a lot out of pocket to produce each show. When it is rejected or pre-empted, it is a big loss for me.
So with regret and grief, I am not returning to TBN. I intend to pursue other avenues of ministry. I thank you for the years of association in the ministry. May God continue to bless you in your pursuit of evangelizing the world.
In Christ's grace,
Hal Lindsey
Dang Hal. Your published wierdo prophetic offering of an escatalogical book can be proven totally erroneous, rendered useless, and pulled off racks everywhere yet you're unable to cut other freak shows any slack?
Why don't you point out some Jews who have been as strident in their killing of Christians as Muslims have been? I'll wait.
Muslims use violence to try to suppress Christianity. Liberal Jews like Abe Foxman use intimidation and the courts. Ask Mel Gibson. I don't remember any Muslims who spoke out against his cinematic depiction of the Christian gospels. But Abe Foxman, in so many words, called it a hate crime - he said it would inpsire antisemitic violence. Has he ever retracted that slander? I'd like to see Muslims and Jews (and Buddists, Hinus, etc) converted to Christ. As a Christian, that's what I'm supposed to pray for. Paul evangelized to Jews and Gentiles. So should modern Christians.
Equating Jews with Muslims (who kill their enemies and those who don't agree with them) in any way is sort of sick.
Baptist ping
Jews and Muslims agree in rejecting Jesus as the Christ. Are you saying that's not true?
You think that's true of all, or even most, Muslims? Even the ones who voted in the recent Iraq election, and the Muslims whom they elected to run the country? If those Muslims are as bad as you say Muslims are, does that mean you think we shouldn't have supported the Iraq election?
I guess that puts the email I received back from TBN in the category of lie...they told me that he was off during Christmas so they could concentrate on Christmas programming!
On this issue, I agree with him. He should NOT compromise like the others who remain on the channel.
Islam=evil
It's not a matter of degree. Evil is evil.
TBN = Trinity Broadcasting Network
Anytime I have heard David Jeremiah on the radio, he's been VERY good - Bible based to the "t".
Thank you for the ping!

Give me specifics. I said that Jews and Muslims both reject the divinity of Jesus. How is that twisting the truth? It's a simple fact.
I also said that some of the most potent the attacks on Christianity here at home, in the USA, are coming not from Muslims, but from liberal Jewish groups like Foxman's ADL - through "separation of church and state" lawsuits and general efforts at intimidation of people who would like to use the word, "Christmas," for example, or sing Christmas songs at school. That's not twisting the truth, it's an easily documented fact.
I also pointed out that there's a lot of Muslim-bashing on FR, but then people turn around and praise the Iraq elections - elections by and for Muslims. So which is it - - Muslims are bad, or we should applaud when Muslims vote for Muslims to run a Muslim government in Iraq? If you like the Iraq elections - and there's good reason to like them - then by definition you have to believe that a lot of Muslims, the voters and those they elected, are good people.
I think your equating Muslims with Jews is disgusting.
Certainly you are not comparing the actions of one wacko liberal with the murderous actions of hundreds of thousands of Muslims?????
This is what I'm saying: My niece's school won't sing Christmas carols - - not because of Muslims objecting, but because of some liberal Jewish parents objecting. Abe Foxman has a lot of followers and funders for his anti-Christian agenda. So it's not just Muslims who are taking freedoms away in this country. Sorry to tell a truth that's not popular to hear -- especially on FR -- but it's still a truth. That's what being "politically incorrect" means - telling the truth when people want to deny it.
