...about covers it for me.

If I remember correctly, Chavez' United Farm Workers party had about 2,000 members when he died.

Click on the earlier post on FR, and you will get to read Calzoncit's rantings about the slaughter of Mexican soldiers...
Gearing up for a vote this month, if I'm not mistaken.Even though the "community activists" can find no reference to the school being named after Stonewall Jackson,(and so what if it was?) and anecdotal evidence from the community that the school is named for the stone walls along the road, they seem to still be going full speed ahead. And no, not everyone in the district supports this stupidity.

Yes. It coincided with the "Cultural Revolution" in Red China and shared the same goal of deconstructing any society which stands in the way of Communist domination.

I don't think that the majority of parents in the district support changing the name. Many attended the school as children, and see this stuff for what it is. There is a vocal minority in this town that have appointed themselves as "representatives" of the Hispanic community, whatever that is. And they are so darned sure that if you are a Gonzalez or Sanchez then by golly you think like them. Condecending SOB's.
