"Feets don't fail me now" is racial?! Bugs Bunny says it.

"Feets Don't Fail Me Now" - a great Little Feat album. No doubt, the pop-culture loon was referring to that - not something racial.

Pahleeze.

"Feets don't fail me now"

An excellent Little Feat album.

Racial? Never knew. ....and there's no way Berman meant it to be so.

That's the name of a "Little Feat" album from about 1970.

I think "Feets, don't fail me now" is one of those phrases that has entered the common vernacular. I wouldn't even have realized it ever had any racial connotation if someone didn't point it out and I don't think most people would.

This kind of overreaction has gotten ridiculous.

Nah - everybody knows y'can't say anything racially-offensive about a white guy -
1) there isn't much to say and
b) we're more mature than to take seriously anything those kinds of beings say

Feets dont fail me now is a Little Feat song. Berman often employs parts of classic rock songs and word plays on players names.

Berman is unwatchable, particulary when he does the highlights. His act was old 15 years ago.

Huh? Talk about your lame attempt at manufactured controversy. I doubt that anybody other than the author of this piece is "aware" that the allegedly racist 'feets don't fail me now' has any origin outside of a Hanna Barbera cartoon.

That's racial? I thought that was Bugs Bunny!

Frankly, folks, I thought it was a Brooklyn-ism.

To all who think "feets don't fail me now" isn't racist, I can only ask you to trust me that it has its roots in the worst kind of racial sterotype.

If Rush Limbaugh had ever used the phrase, I have absolutely no doubt it would have been blared all over the MSM immediately with headlines along the lines: "Limbaugh Employs Racist Stereotype".

Chris Berman is liberal, but one thing I respect about him, was that he defended Rush Limbaugh and is still friends with him and the 2 of them do talk now and then.

This is Mantan Moreland, the black actor who made the "feets don't fail me now" line famous. It was a classic racial stereotype of a frightened black man.

My sole point is that if Rush ever used the expression "feets don't fail me now", the MSM would come down on him like a ton of bricks.

Is there anyone here who doubts it?

"Feets don't Fail Me Now" may seem like a parody of an old "Amos and Andy" show. But how many remember that this grammatical absurdity is exactly what Bill Cosby was admonishing blacks to reject. By the way, in our "bi-lingual" courses in public schools we are turning out what Bill Buckley rightly refers to as "semi-literates in two languages". Before anyone presumes to laugh at endemic black grammar gaffes he should listen (or read, if possible) to many young whites whose grammer and diction are not up to the level of the Hottentots. The fact is that we are becoming a thoroughly non-bigoted, class-free,
non-racial, democratric, public-educated mass of linguistic cretins.
