The public answer would be that it would make the Presidency, and the country look bad. The private answer, I don't know.

Why wouldn't the new Bush administration shut down any investigation into pardons by his predecessors? Theft of furniture and valuables? General state of the WH? I don't know, but the number one rule is, don't publicize anything that reflects badly on the Clintons.

What's illogical about what I said?
You may not use my post as an example of tortured logic because it is not. You may use your own post as such an example because it is.
I will be happy to come to your class and explain the facts to you and your students. I doubt that they are getting the truth from you.

Try reading the book. I had never before considered that Bill Clinton was CIA, but after learning that, his meteoric rise and seeming invincibility became at least understandable.
Reed is not omniscient and some of his conclusions about what he experienced may be flawed. But it is the singly most important book of our time. It makes the pieces of the puzzle fit. I don't know who he is speaking to now, but that doesn't take anything away from the truth that he has told.

It's not about the Clintons - it's about the office of the Presidency. All that garbage the Clintons did reflects badly against the OFFICE.
But .. as for the furniture, valuables (they were returned to the WH); and as for the damage done when the Clintons moved out - the GOA charged the former admin $200,000 for the damage.
And .. why on earth would Bush want to continue to have Clintons name and face constantly in the news ..?? Bush wanted and still wants to prod the public into moving on to the next admin. Fortunately, some democrats have made that possible by their constant focus on Bush.

" I had never before considered that Bill Clinton was CIA, "
For Clinton to be CIA would mean everything he's done for the past 36 years was just a smoke screen and knowing about his days at Oxford, the flag burning and the 'vacation' at the invitation of the KGB at the Kremlin when entry to the USSR was not permitted and banned by the American government, the selling of the security secrets to the Chinese, etc., etc., etc., along with Hillarys part in toppling Nixon just doesn't fit in. Now CIA to Bill Clinton, meaning 'COMMUNIST INSIDE the AGENCY' would be more like it.
It would take a h*** of a lot more evidence than one book written by a disgruntled ex-employee to convince me otherwise.
How do you know that book wasn't written in such a way to steer any ideas that Clinton was Communist in another direction?

Your post conveys a fundamental misunderstanding of the CIA. Sometimes it uses persons with conservative credentials to achieve its goals, sometimes it uses liberals. It is not only this book that identifies Clinton as CIA -- such persons as Larry Nichols have reported Clinton's CIA ties.
How do you think that Clinton was able to travel to the Soviet Union and all through the Communist block without the CIA's help?
The CIA originally liked Nixon but then they had a falling out, and so they got rid of him and put their man Gerald Ford in.
THE CIA does not detest Communism per se. They were very sorry to see the Soviet Union fall, and never forgave Ronald Reagan for bringing that about despite their best efforts.
The CIA believes that they can and should rule the world and that presidents are mere figureheads who come and go and should just shut up and do as they are told. Ford, Bush I, and Clinton did just that. Reagan and Bush II actually acted as though being president meant something and that protecting and defending America was their main objective. This is why the CIA hates President Bush and is trying to bring him down.
The CIA selected, groomed, and protected Clinton and continues to do so. Clinton has not even begun to fulfill his promise. When Clinton becomes head of the UN, with Hillary as president of the United States, the CIA will see its true goals within reach -- a new world order (Bush I's choice of words, not mine) with the CIA in firm control.
