One of the nation's largest wind farms will soon be constructed...

200 giant turbines will dot the high plains landscape over a 30 square-mile area.

Some will stand more than 300 feet in height.

The new wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to power more than 90-thousand homes.

Headed by Greenlight Energy Inc. of Charlottesville, Virginia.

Xcel Energy plans to purchase electricity from the project.

>>>What about all the poor birds that will die?<<<

That's Natural Selection in action. The dumb birds die. The smart ones adapt & survive.

I find it so funny when the libs complain about these wind farms, while telling their congresscritters to vote against drilling in ANWR...I really think, they think, energy just appears, when they flip their light switches...

BTW..when I lived in Boulder Co....we would get wind in the winter up to 100 mph...if they get that kind of wind where these will be...they should produce quite well..

Yeah, and just imagine when the first tornado comes around. They'll generate enough electricity in two minutes to power 2 million homes. LOL

I don't think that there has ever been a power source that the liberals/tree huggers support in the long run. They were all for wind power until the birds started piling up at the base of the windmill.

They will love solar for a time. They'll find some reason not to like it.

Power produced by wind is a good thing.

They want the US dependant on others for energy. God forbid we be self sufficient. We'd be just too powerful a nation. Can't have that.

If they would put these things in Congress, they could provide power for three or four states...

If you are referring to Robert Redford's Ranch, it is in Utah, south of Park City.

I've seen the ones on the interstate near the exit for Palm Springs, CA. Don't know how many there are but it's certainly ugly but no worse than HV power lines I suppose.

Yeah, well let me tell you something, I'm pretty hacked that we in the West keep getting this blight, it's time to cover those blue states, they need to feel the love. I was really hoping for Martha's Vineyard to be a forest of wind generators floating offshore but looks like your Uncle Teddy has some stroke doesn't it?!

And time to drill more wells and let's build some nuke plants ASAP, it's there, let's use it. Run the pussy-footin' RINOs out of office, elect some people with backbones and guts and let's get busy people, I've had my fill of wusses, haven't you?

BTW, the ACLU marches steadily on--and the Dhimmicrats with their constant obstructionism...
