Actually, I doubt that Beijing wants to annex Nepal, rather I think that they would prefer it to basically become another North Korea...that is another "client state". IMHO, I'm not aware of Nepal having anything that would make the ChiComs want to annex it outright.
You may be right. I've been there and it's dirt poor but culturally rich. The beauty of the place is astounding.
