From Powerline:

n my opinion, the idea that, in the context of the terrorist threat we currently face, the government can't use radiation-detecting devices in public places--there is no indication that federal agents broke into anyone's home with a Geiger counter--to look for nuclear weapons, is ludicrous.

I'd like to hear from the Democrats on this one. Yesterday, Mrs. R. and I were watching a television news program, when someone pointed out that no leading Democrat has yet called on President Bush to terminate the NSA intercept program. I laughed out loud. Good point! Likewise with the radiation story: Do we have the Democrats' pledge that under a Democratic administration, the government would not use radiation-detecting equipment to search for dirty bombs? If so, that should make it a lot easier for millions of Americans to cast their votes in the 2008 election.

Perhaps if the MSM would point out that the top Puppet Master for today's Muslims, the President of Iran, is openly promising to nuke Israel, then the monitoring of mosques in the United States would be understood in full context.

They can tell them they are doing routine tests for radon (very common in FL) which is a naturally occuring gaseous element produced by the decay of radium, which is very common in soils in my part of the country

Never, ever trust a muslim. Lying and deceit are promoted in their effect to murder innocent civilian men, women and children.

You know.  I joke around here at FR a lot:  engaging in hyperbole, sarcastic "outrage" and other bad habits I rarely exhibit in real life.

But seriously.  I mean REALLY.

How in the name of God could one argue about whether or not scanning for nuclear bombs poses a violation of Constitutional Rights?  Even on principal it's absurd.

It's the most absolutely stupid thing I've ever see in the political ring.  Just imagining that this could possibly be an "issue" at all seriously makes me wonder about my fellow Man.

If someone said to my face that the government shouldn't be doing this without a warrant because it "violates the Constitution", I'd honestly consider slapping them.

There's no argument here...this is something the Federal Government should be doing all the time.  Period.  End of discussion.

I mean.  OMG.

Thankfully the terrorists have now been warned.

They will now be sure to assemble their device in a residential safe house far away from identified monitored areas.

Hopefully NEST will not need to obtain a warrant to monitor the fallout from a domestic mushroom cloud after detonation.

Headline should be:

"Americans Angered by Presence of Muslims and Mosques"""

I know I am......
Glad to see I am not alone with this sentiment.

You got their number Travis.
The only up side of all this "gotcha politics" the rats are escalating about nat. security is that we now have the right to proclaim any attack on our soil absolutely their fault.
They won't like it but tough sh!t. They deserve it.

"Americans Angered by Presence of Muslims and Mosques" I like that headline. So what if the muslims are angered **ck them and if they don't like my attitude they can get out of the US.

You are right about that. If a dirty bomb ever did go off in an American city (God Forbid), the crowd screaming loudest about civil liberties will be the first to demand to know why the Administration did nothing to protect us. I can picture the usual suspects now: Schumer, Levin, Boxer, Kennedy, and Rockerfeller--with Hagel standing ominiously in the background. Of course, the MSM will conveniently forget their opposition to anything that smacked of proactively fighting terrorism. I wonder how many American will need to die before that bunch get ejected from the seats of power: 1000? 10,000?, 1,000,000? Maybe more.

...Council on American-Islamic Relations, the nation's largest Muslim civil-liberties group.

What a joke! They mean the nation's largest Islamo-terrorist front organization.

CAIR really stands for "Conquering America to Islamic Rule."

When I heard the FBI was doing this, I thought, "Damn straight. Always monitor the gathering spots of the terrorists and their sympathizers."

If the terrorists on 9/11 were Christian extremists who got winks and nods at the local churches, you can bet the FBI would be doing the same to the local churches.

If Islamists don't want to be associated with terrorism, then they should be more strident about not associating with terrorists.

I see the liberal media is still quoting CAIR, which is funded by Hamas.

Well, of course! We can expect nothing less from the Dhimmicrats and their Leftist minions in the media.

Now-now...we should be more accommodating to the Islamists who want to kill us and rape our wives and daughters. We just need to be more tolerant of the "religion of peace"!

Federal law enforcement officials said this? I'd like to know who, specifically, so that we can arrange their firing.

Firing?? How about execution?
