...or we could just call his spouse "Dame Elton" and sidestep the question entirely...

That is a great point....

I see intra-homo discrimination in the original story. /sarc

This is so disgusting it's beyond words and unworthy of conversation.

Don't blame me, if anyone neeeds blame it is the UK MP's who voted for this perversion and the MSM who are wallowing in it.

I think Elton is the wife in this equation. He looks like a 60 year old female school teacher or social security office worker. Drab, drab, drab!

How about "Thing 1" and "Thing 2"?

"From what I've seen Elton's the wife."

Which would make his betrothed a "Knight Rider".

"Cynosure of all eyes" is a phrase from Hamlet, meaning the center of attention.

Maybe Elton and partner should publicly define who plays what marital role

As I understand it, they are not "married", nor is one the husband and the other the wife. They are merely "partners" in a civil union, but they are not married.

A cynosure is something that attracts attention by its brilliance or shininess.

It comes from the Greek for "dog's tail" because that's what the Greeks called the extremely bright stars, including the Pole Star, in the constellation Ursa Minor.

Greek sailors could often these them even through fog and guide their ships by the "dog's tail".

Can't say I've seen the likes of them while pheasant hunting in the Dakotas.
