There is no URL link, because other times people have told me they cannot use the link, unless they are first a member. There are no pictures because I am not that skilled yet. I also posted "Goat-Grab Diplomacy in Iraq", which discussed the counterinsurgency problem. From what I read it does not look like we are lost in a quagmire and I see a lot of bright people thrashing out how we can win. Articles like these generate much vigorous discussion and policies change as a result. However such articles are often hidden away in professional journals with 50,000 to 100,000 subcribers.

For those who wish to register, no cost is involved - provide them with a valid email address just like FR, with the US Naval Institute.

U.S. MARINE CORPS (JONATHAN C. KNAUTH)

Positive identification is crucial to any census of Iraqis. Retinal scans can be a big help.

U.S. ARMY (ROBERT LIDDY)

Security is the key to any counterinsurgency plan. Here, military police talk with a local village sheik as they conduct a sweep for weapons

U.S. ARMY (LAURA M. BIGENHO)

Training starts with the individual. Sergeant Andrew Derrick, U.S. Army, is doing it the right way as he helps an Iraqi policeman achieve a correct shooting stance. We have no business even think-ing about Iraqi army battalions until we have trained capable squads and platoons.

The problem is not "how to win in Iraq", rather how to win at home.

This is where the main battlefield is. Unless we win the propaganda war here, what we do in Iraq won't matter much (in the short term).

Bush has got to continue going on the attack with speeches and appearances like he's been doing the past month, 'cause the other side ain't going to relent.

He has to get his poll numbers well above 50% or else even the rats on our side (RINOs and moderates) will abandon him.
