This kind of story was actually started and used in Christian lands during and after the 1250's as a way to blame Jews for whatever calamity befell a region, or as a way of turning the population against Jews for political reasons.

It was ridiculous and racist then, and is still so. What is even more striking to me is that these Islamists once again show their lack of education, their cultural ignorance and their blind hatred.
