Arab MK: Israel ‘robbery of century’

Knesset Member Azmi Bishara in Lebanon: We are original inhabitants of Palestine, not ‘those who came from Poland, Russia; says Israelis should leave, take their democracy with them

Israel is the 20th century's greatest robbery, carried out in broad daylight, Arab Knesset member Azmi Bishara (National Democratic Assembly) told a Lebanese audience last week during a speech at an Arab book fair in Beirut.

"I will never recognize Zionism even if all Arabs do," he said. "I will never concede Palestine. The battle is still long."

Bishara, who recently launched his campaign for an additional term in the Knesset, left for Lebanon five days ago without consent from the Interior Ministry, Israel's leading newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported Sunday.

His harsh anti-Israel message at the fair was quoted by Lebanese newspaper As -Safir.

"The conflict between Israel and the Palestinians is not a demographic dispute, but a national one," he said. "It's not the problem of 1.2 million Palestinians living in Israel. They are like all Arabs, only with Israeli citizenship forced upon them."

"We are the original residents of Palestine, not those who came from Poland and Russia," the MK added.

‘Leave and take your democracy with you’

Directing his speech at Israelis, Bishara said, "Return Palestine to us and take your democracy with you. We Arabs are not interested in it."

The audience received the Knesset member with great applause

Bishara also used the opportunity to criticize Arab leaders who have ties with Israel.

"Why does one of the Arab countries provide a home for (Foreign Minister) Silvan Shalom, while the army destroys homes in Palestine on a daily basis?" he said, referring to the foreign minister's recent visit to his birth county of Tunisia. "If you want to surrender, do it, but don't force us to give in."

Bishara has meanwhile returned to Israel and told Yedioth Ahronoth Saturday night that his speech was "about Zionism and citizenship."

"I didn’t say anything new that I hadn't said in other places. I've spoken like this in the Knesset," he said.

In any other country this would be treason and the man incarcerated. In Israel, Sharon rewards this scum with more land concessions and lies about it all through the process.

Best case scenario: The average Iranian will get tired enough of the rantings of lunatics like Azmi Bishara and bring democracy to Iran.

The Iranians need to do it for themselves. I can't imagine selling the idea of sending our troops there after we're done with Iraq.

There are no so-called palestinians. There are only various conglomerations of arabs in Israel which have radicalized to this so-called cause.

Kill them or kick them out! Their choice.

He will NOT be expelled from the Knesset or forbidden to run against for advocating treason abroad. In post-survivalist Israel, promoting the disappearance of Israel is the highest form of free speech and of course championing a crackdown on Arabs who are disloyal to the Jewish State is perversely viewed as the lowest form of racism.

Who are the arabs who lived there in the 40s and 50's and their children and grandchildren? I am very pro-Israel, but to say there are no Palestinians is a lie.

Who are the arabs who lived there in the 40s and 50's,....

As I said: "...various conglomerations of arabs...." Palesinians is a glommed-onto name derived from the Roman "Palestine", also meant to humiliate the Jews.

No Palestine, no so-called palestinians.

Move them out.

They almost certainly were people who did not consider themselves "Palestinian." Palestinians were Jews. Go have a look at some old newspapers. (The annual New York Times Indexes for each of the early years of the 20th century - before Balfour - have just two words under the heading "Palestine." They are: "See Jews.")

He seems to have forgotten the original theft by Arabs of the the lands of the Byzantine empire ca. 670. The theft of the orthodox heritage and religion of the original inhabitants by sword and oppression might also be included in his indictment. Islam has an historical memory that excludes recollection of their original subjugation of the lands that belonged to others.

"Who are the arabs who lived there in the 40s and 50's and their children and grandchildren? I am very pro-Israel, but to say there are no Palestinians is a lie."

They are a group of people who lived in a land always governed by other nations, such as Turkey prior to the end of the World War that brought about the Balfour Treaty. There are 21 Arab countries to move to if they want to live with others who share their faith. And these 21 Arab countries have most of the world's oil resources and a good portion of its land mass.

Remember 2/3rds of the land originally intended for the nation of Israel createe Jordan, who kicked the Palestinians out after they made themselves unwelcome.

The book "From Time Immemorial" reveals that many Arab peoples moved to Israel to benefit from jobs and opportunities when Israel became a nation. Wealth and belongings of Jews who left Arab nations were confiscated.

"We are the original residents of Palestine, not those who came from Poland and Russia," the MK added.

Paging Dr. Rice, Dr. Rice, Dr. Rice! Someone in the Knesset actually agrees with you.

Oh, no. Wait... He is an Arab. Then again, maybe that is why he agrees with you.

Dr. Rice, Dr. Rice, your Arab friends are on the phone. Please pick up the white courtesy phone in the lobby.

Leave and take your democracy with you

Oops. That won't play well at Foggy Bottom. He should have stopped with his "Jews aren't from here" speech, where Foggy Bottom and the CFR agree.

The Arabs were not the origonal inhabitants of Palestine, nor of Egypt, or Jordan, or Iran or Lebanon for that matter. They are the invaders who practice genocide and claim all under their feet. Despite History, or Reality.

Time to send the Arabs back to Arabia...
