My first thought..The long suffering, but steadfast wife. There are those who identify with and love her victimhood.
There are some that just love Bill sooooo much they think he is wonderful no matter what he does. He "feels their pain." (He seems to do a lot of "feeling".)
She sticks with Bill because they are partners in power.
