Romney's Decision Not to Run Again Stirs Presidential Talk

BOSTON After earning two Harvard degrees, making millions as a businessman and turning around a scandal-plagued Winter Olympics, Mitt Romney created a list of accomplishments as governor.
The Republican, who was elected in 2002, said Wednesday he's not seeking a second term, prompting some political analysts to say Romney did not want to risk tarnishing his resume if he decides to run for president in 2008.
By forgoing a second term, he will allow himself to campaign unimpeded for the presidency should he so choose, and not subject himself to the political whims of the heavily Democratic state in the run-up to the next presidential election.
"I don't think he had a choice if he was serious about running for the nomination in '07 or '08," said Scott Reed, who managed Bob Dole's 1996 GOP presidential campaign.

Mitt should stay where he is.
Only a conservative can beat Hillary in '08. That rules out Romney!

And more to the point: Why are they asking some joker who ran Bob Dole's campaign? What a raging success that was!!!!

Mitt Romney is a really fine and upstanding individual, he would make a heck of a President! He is the leader of a state with a voting IQ of 50%.
He's smart to get outtaheah!
Most forward thinking individuals are leaving MA, 2-5 years from now we'll be Spanish speaking welfare bitches with Reps that can't figure out why the State is literally dying. The boobs from Hahvud will tell us that reality is not really reality at that time, and we are all okay.
Just watch Dr. Phil at 4 PM.
I have lived here most of my life and am appalled at the inherent ignorance of our residents.

Youve been spending too much time on FR (well i take that back) Maybe you use FR as a sampling the wrong way. A Center-Right person can beat Hillary. Not Moderate...slightly more Conservative <> can beat her.

After deciding to force Catholic hospitals to provide emergency contraception, Romney can go whistle for my vote.

People should know by now that no liberal senator or liberal governor from the northeast can be elected president.
The same rule can be applied to a RINO from the northeast.

I've lived here in Mass. my entire life, and I completely agree with you. The people here are either stupid or they are so self righteous they can't see past their ignorance. For some odd reason, they always vote for a Republican governor who can't do a damn thing because of the liberals running amok in the state. Mitt is a good guy with good ideas for the state, but it's way too frustrating trying to be conservative in MA.

Bitch against the policies and people coming up with the policies. But, don't single out any one minority group like you did when you mentioned 'spanish speaking' people. I don't agree with any hispanic or blacks or asian groups getting undue benefits or priviledges just because of their skin color or nationality or religons or language. But, I also don't approve of language that sounds racist or bigoted.

Romney has no chance at all in the deep south primaries. Hillary Clinton would run better in the Republican primaries there than he would.

Approving or dis approving of "language" is indicative of what is truly wrong here!
Are you infuriated by "reality"?
or the words and concepts that you "feel" are HURTFUL?
Give me a big break!

Mitt is an anti-Second Amendment politician just like Juliani. He signed the extension of the Assault Weapons Ban in MA. after the federal ban expired. If you show disdain for the Constitution, you should never be considered for ANY gov't job.
He is far from a conservative and will NEVER get this NH primary voter's vote!!!

Your comments are much appreciated. You know, at times a farsighted outlook is needed to bring clarity to those suffering from myopia.
