Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, has made new threats of terrorist attacks, timed to coincide with general elections on Thursday. The threats are in contrast with the appeal of another insurgent group, the Islamic Army in Iraq, for no attacks on polling stations as Iraqis vote.
"The lions of monotheism of the organisation of al-Qaeda have launched a new blessed military offensive against the seats of apostates and infidels to force into crisis the blasphemous democratic marriage" reads a statement posted on Islamist websites.
The communique says that al-Zarqawi's followers are ready for attacks in areas of Baghdad, in the restive western province of al-Anbar, nearby Salahuddin, in Mosul and Diyala.
"Until now we have struck the coves of the crusaders and the infidels" it says, which are in the Green Zone in Baghdad and in particular the interior ministry, the US base and the headquarters of the secret services." It said that for these attacks they used Tariq Karrad and Katiusha missiles and 120mm Hawn rockets.
The group said it would be publishing updates giving further details of the purported military offensive.

I can never distinguish between thosee Al Quaeda fellows and the American Democrats; I always confuse Pelosi with Zarquawi, Obama with Osama, Kennedy with Baghdad Bob. It's so confusing, with all the similarities.

I wish no injuries or deaths on Iraqis, but if this scumbaga ttacks during these elections he will cement his status as a kook fringe movement. I think even the Sunnis are tired of his garbage.

Yep, they realize they can't stop the formation of a powerful Iraqi military that will kick their butt if they keep fighting; election is their best hope of having some power.
Their next interesting action will be when their representatives in the Iraqi Parliament pull out the stops to KEEP the American troops somewhere in Iraq, just to protect Sunni butts if things go downhill and there is a threat of civil war.
Yep. He said this last time....and failed miserably. Even the Sunni's are giving him the finger.
BTW, what happened to the Ramadan Offensive. ;o)

They deserve the EXACT same treatment, IMO.
Here's hoping he'll get flushed out during the elections and someone will send him to his 72 virgins (NOT)....
I'd rather see him taken alive and whimpering from a hole like Saddam. No martyr status, have him go out like the punk he is.
Zarquawi got the memo from the DNC to stop this election or the next election (2006) will not be good.
