Some surprisingly high-profile Democrats have signed a petition to pressure California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to grant clemency to serial killing-Crips-founder Stanley "Tookie" Williams, who is set to die in San Quentin's death house next Tuesday.

According to FrontPageMagazine.com, Tookie's supporters include former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo, Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin and "Baghdad" Jim McDermott.

The Weekly Standard reports that Hollywood is also turning out for Tookie - in droves.

The man who brutally gunned down four people in 1979 has now garnered the support of Ed Asner, Russell Crowe, Ted Danson, Richard Dreyfuss, Mike Farrell, Laurence Fishbourne, Danny Glover, Elliott Gould, and Tim Robbins.

YEAH! See - working hard and doing the right thing is for suckers. Commit a horrible crime in the US and you'll get everything you want.

Probably good that those Columbine kids committed suicide or their trial would have turned into a leftist circus too.

re: It's what they do best

The comparative of 'good' is 'better' and the superlative is 'best'. To use 'better' you have to be comparing two things and to use 'best' you have to be comparing three or more things. Actually backing losers appears to be the ONLY thing they do these days, so the word 'best' is probably not accurate in this case.

Typical emotional masturbation, that would no longer seem important if it were one of THEIR loved ones that the scumbag gunned down.

Whoa, what the heck happened to Russell Crowe, has he gone off the deep end regarding his support for this piece of s&%$? I can only think the worse; his betrayal in order to secure more work in Hollywood? How sad.

What else is new?

Enough said!

Not that he deserved it, but I don't recall Scott Peterson getting this much sympathy.

With the people mentioned in the article, their support boils down to economics. Reelect me, see my latest movie. They really don't give a shit about anything but their bank balances.

Wrong shade, I'm afraid. Only non-European males and all females are innocent.

Scott needs to write some childrens books first, then change his skin tone.

The Governator has learned from the school of hard knocks, the prime republican directive in dealing withh liberal wing nuts:

1) Give an inch, they take a mile.

The governators potential conquest of the federal Republican party is doomed. He may pardon Tookie out of spite.

What clemancy often does is put justice in the hands of vigilantes. Not a good thing. Think about it Governator.

(sarcas) Alright, let him go.(sarcasm ends)

Just keep in mind that if Tookie is let out onto the streets, other, more savage gangs, like MS-13, will do everything in their power to kill him.

I doubt he would survive a year on the outside.

Though on the otherhand, if the minority gangs kill him, he will not be martyred by leftists.

not necessarily, for example it would be better if they invited Tookie to a Christmas Party - and best if he went and killed all of them.

But it does hold true that best is always better than better, except when one has done his best and yet someone does better, yet even when it is all done and said it would have been better if Tookie had never been born and now it is best we corect that error. Now that would be both better and the best.

Crowe, IMO, was always mentally deficient. He's kissed his career goodbye and now all he has left is to make a complete a** of himself to garner any publicity he can.

Pro-choicers want to save a murderer. Tookie is one of their own kind.
