SPECIAL TO THE HERALD NEWS

NAPERVILLE — From all accounts, 19-year-old Lance Cpl. Adam Kaiser lived a quiet life before he was killed serving with the Marines in Iraq.

His funeral service, however, might not be that quiet for his Romeoville parents and others who mourn his death.

A church group that protests funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq with signs that read, "God Hates America," and, "Thank God for Dead Soldiers," plans to be there.

Shirley Phelps-Roper, the attorney for Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan., said a group from the church intends to protest at both Kaiser's funeral and the funeral of Byron resident Lance Cpl. Andrew Patten, 19, who also was killed in Thursday's blast near Fallujah.

There is some speculation that Phelps may well be as queer as a three dollar bill. The reason Phelps is so vitriolic in his disapproval of gays, is that he is trying to convince himself that he is not gay.

Try contacting maintenance and parts department guys at Harley-Davidson outlets, and motorcycle shops. They may be able to get the word out.

Rumor is, these people always have lawyers present, and are waiting for any physical contact that could be considered assault. Possibly this is all a publicity and money-making ploy. Which makes it even more disgusting.

I tried to find a way to contact the Hells Angels in Chicago, but no email or contact info available on the net.

Find a good bar – no ferns, no valet parking, a lot of Harleys in the parking lot.

Not all "church" groups are His church. They probably think they will earn brownie points for heaven.

They may go to church, but they are not Christians.

I really wish they had the balls to try one around here.

"Phelps said such a law would be unconstitutional, but Quinn said the U.S. Supreme Court has allowed the type of restrictions he is proposing."

Damn straight it should be restricted. What about the families rights? This needs to stop. I'd like to see someone taunt him outside his own house all freaken night long.

Why do I suspect that you won't find a single nativity scene on the front lawns of any of these people?

I don't live near there. Usually the American Legion riders show up and drown them out. Other Military Families and supporters also make sure they outnumber them in order to make their display less noticeable. Under no circumstances should anyone say or touch WBC protesters. This group is working for more than press. They actually try to get people to assault them in order to support their church. Read This

If it were me, I would attack them physically with no remorse.

As far as this person being a pastor, F em, I would get even more joy out of beating him sensless if he dared do something like in my presence.

Why don't the family members attack these dirtbags?

I have to agree, and it ought to come from the city and state authorities. They don't leave the airport they don't get within 10 miles of the funeral or burial location.

There has to be a legal reason to keep them at bey. If they come by car they are apprehended at their motel, or at the border. There is a legal way to shut down these purveyors of hate.

They may think they have a legal right to protest, but not at the emotional expense of the people they are out to harm. It is time to step up. The mayor can declare a 10 mile exclusion zone for protests surrounding the family and funeral.

There are not many people who think the Constitution of the United States of America condones and perpetuates the spread of deceit, hatred, and harm to the delicate sensibilities of those in grief and mourning.

News media blackout would also be a good idea. They have managed to shut down or slow down the white supremacists, this group isn't much different. Just hiding behind a different church.

Now if we could just know how the lawsuits would pan out...

Anyone in the area, please do what you can! I got this from the mom of Lance Cpl. Andrew G. Patten:

"Please pray for the families of the 10 killed last week. We need prayer. Article in paper today saying hate group may show up at our son's funeral in Rockford. I am sick. I can only hope that the power of prayer will make this not happen!
GLN MM LCpl Andrew"

I see the Patriot Guard Riders have it as a pending mission ride: http://www.patriotguard.org/Default.aspx
