Sounds like It is obvious that the ACLU would rather not have money than be prohibited from using it to support terrorism.

There. Fixed it.

George Soros Holds Secret Meeting, Makes 5-Year Plan

A hush-hush meeting of 70 leftist fat cats heard billionaire George Soros lay out a five-year plan designed to build a network of think tanks, media outlets and training schools promoting Soros' brand of Marxism. Meeting in Scottsdale Ariz., last weekend, the assemblage of multi-millionaires, whose identities were kept secret by the meeting's organizers, planned to start the process of building an ideas production line for liberal politicians.

This just goes to show you that none of this has anything to do with people's rights and liberties and everything to do with power, control and ego of these stupid morons.

Marjorie Esman, a lawyer who represents the Louisiana affiliate on the board, wrote afterward in an e-mail message."We are not for sale..."
Since when has there been a lawyer who wasn't for sale?

I probably got the impression about Soros from Byron York.

Discussing The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy with Author Byron York

Soros believed that the correct response to September 11th would have been police work, more foreign aid, America trying to get along better with its neighbors, and he felt that George W. Bush was really wrong when he used the phrase “War on Terror” and actually meant a war on terror.

So Soros resolved to do what he could and spend the money he needed to try to defeat Bush in 2004.

--snip--

GIACHINO: That’s right. And he got one of his friends to match the money, didn’t he?

YORK: That’s right. He dictated the size and the scope of the effort, and he gave not only his own money but you are right in that he got his friends to give other money in enormous amounts to do it. As a matter fact, one of the things that I say in the book is that one of the largest portions of all this money came from just five people. George Soros and his friend Peter Lewis, who is the Chairman of Progressive Insurance, often give together. For example, Soros will kick in $10 million and then Lewis will kick in $10 million.

The link is an interesting recap of points doug also mentioned.

I was going more by comments I have seen than direct evidence. So I stand corrected. I'm sure you're right that Soros is more the instigator than Lewis. But as Neverdem's quote says, first Soros gives $10 million and then Lewis gives $10 million. So he's a reliable member of the Billionaire's Club. Not a healthy influence, but one of the people ready and eager to fund the worst sort of leftist kooks.

I wasn't sure either, so I pulled the old article. I have commented that Soros would spend a quarter of a billion to get Hillary elected.

Soros is a malign influence, no doubt about it. I hope he has shorted the dollar and loses his shirt, but he's probably too smart to get caught that way. We'll just have to wait until he gets old and dies, but then I suppose he'll leave some sort of Soros Foundation behind him to continue the mischief.

Alright students, let's begin.

Your assignment for today is to write a short, 100 word essay on how the insurance industry financed the establishment and expansion of Soviet Communism in the 20th century.

Hint: "Hammer"

Soviet "expert" Armond Hammer owned Occidental Petroleum, an oil company (see key shareholder: Senator Gore).

His father, Julius Hammer owned, among other things, the "First American and Russian" insurance companies, had huge commercial real-estate holdings in Czarist Russia (including buildings near what is now Red Square that he personally turned over to Lenin), yet he was a close confidant of Lenin, and gave millions of dollars in hard currency for business concessions in the newly born USSR when the Bolsheviks needed it most.

When Lenin spoke of "Capitalists who will sell the rope with which to hang them", he was speaking of Julius Hammer.

The whole mess goes much deeper and wider than space allows.

The ACLU is having a bad day. Add this one to the one they lost yesterday, and things are looking up.

Progressive= Soviet KGB term for "fellow Traveler" or Sympathiser. Lenin refered to them as useful fools.

A rather apt name for an insurance company and an obvious hint about its founder.
