Babs new song:
Well I lay my head on the railroad track
Waiting on the Double E
But the train don't run by here no more
Poor poor pitiful me
Poor poor pitiful me
Poor poor pitiful me
Oh these boys won't let me be
Lord have mercy on me
Woe woe is me

She can't spell, I doubt she can read.
I agree, she should move out of this country.
Cuba would be OK, or she could go to Venezuela
To: george76
BS is right on, the LA TIMES is out of touch and has been for a long time.
I do hope that the Times listens to Babs and moves even more to the left. Then the only people reading it will be BS and her two friends

From the L.A. Times website:
Scheer said he thought The Times had grown tired of his liberal politics. "I've been a punching bag for Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh for years and I think the paper finally collapsed," he said. He said he and Ramirez "both had strong opinions and [I think] the owners think they can improve circulation by making the paper bland and safer."
Note to Mr. Scheer: Robert, "bland and safer" is not quite the right phrase. How about "not quite so anti-American, Bush-hating, neurotic, schizophrenic, and conservative bashing?"

Every sentence of her letter is hilarious. She even signs off with a lie about her location. She lives in Malibu, but writes that she is in Santa Monica.
She actually believed the LA TImes was unbiased? That is proof positive that she is delusional. Even with the new ownership & minor changes in staff, the LA Times is still leaning left. The only reason they are trying to "right" themselves is due to the tens of thousands of subscribers they lost.

I've always liked Jonah Goldberg...brilliant writing in National Review.
I now have greater respect for him. He's made Babs out herself as the intolerant, narrow-minded limousine liberal we've always known her to be.
Conservatives can disagree and remain united...liberals, self-absorbed as they are, cannot.

views that stretch them beyond their own paradigms...columnists such as Jonah Goldberg
Babs clearly doesn't see the irony here: she's the one that doesn't want to stretch beyond her own paradigm. If she had any real interest in paradigm-stretching, she'd read Goldberg's column religiously, just to see what the other side thinks. Instead, she cancels her subscription.

Streisand dropping her subscription to the Los Angeles Times is probably the best advert for the Times!
Nothing makes me more reluctant to buy the Times than knowing that people like Streisand and her ilk read the paper.
I don't want to buy a paper that is subscribed to by liberal democrats. With all her millions (or billions?) why doesn't she buy her own newspaper where she can hire Robert Scheer to write more anti-American, pro-Fundamental Islamist hate pieces?
Hey, she could probably get Mrs. Kerry, George Sorryass and Dick Tracy (Warren Beatty) to pump some of their cash into the venture.
Oh, but wait a minute. I forgot. These limousine liberals are the first to open their fat mouths, but the last to open their fatter wallets. They live off our backs we carry them. We fight and die for their right to vent their hatred of our values, but they run and hide when push comes to shove.
God bless America, Merry Christmas to all.

So although the number of contributors to your Op-Ed pages may have increased, in firing Scheer and hiring columnists such as Jonah Goldberg, the gamut of voices has undeniably been diluted.

It says volumes that B.S. is dropping the LA Times because she thinks it is too right wing for her, at the same time that their subscription numbers are collapsing because the public thinks they are too far to the Left.
We are winning....

On Barbra's
site she posts her original letter to the LA Times and then follows it with the edited version which the LA Times actually published. I got the impression that she was not happy about the editing job, though I could be wrong.

It seems, however, an aptly designated epithet, representing the feeling among many of your readers that your new leadership, especially that of Jeff Johnson, is entirely out of touch with them and their desire to be exposed to views that stretch them beyond their own paradigms. Well, we can only hope that in stretching "beyond her own paradigms" through
the Twilight Zone that Babs establishes contact with the Klingon or Romulan
Federation or maybe even the Reptilians, Mantisoids, or Grays of Zeta Reticuli.
Then again...maybe she already has.

This woman may be able to sing, but she is a functional illiterate, if that is the correct terminology. I saw her on television one evening a while back and wondered what she looks like early in the morning. God forbid, and protect the one who has to endure that sight. A friend told me his name is Broling, or something like that, and he used to be an actor. My condolences to him.
